The title should be called the Crete experience . We saw many fabulous and historic sites on and off road . The unexpected part of the tour was experiencing the lifestyle of a few citizens of Crete . I was able to purchase fresh cheese and honey from a local women . The lunch was very rustic and a true culinary delight prepared by a local Shepard . The driver was extremely friendly , informative , and his goal was making sure we had a outstanding experience .

What an absolutely fabulous day! We were lucky to be the only people on the tour, so had our guide - Michael - all to ourselves. Micheal was extremely knowledgable of all the history and mythology concerning our destinations, and Crete generally, and is such a lovely guy. 🙂
Having an air conditioned vehicle to pick us up from our hotel and take us between locations was brilliant. It allowed us to cool back down (it was 34 degrees the day we were out) after each stop. Lunch was amazing at a lovely little taverna in the hills, the olive oil factory tour and tasting was great. The speedboat ride across to Spinalonga was a real highlight, we felt like celebrities zooming across in around 2 minutes passing all the jam packed ferries. Very cool. 🚤😎
We’d definitely recommend Adventure Crete and this day out specifically.
Thanks again Micheal. 👌😊

Emanuel was an excellent informative guide and driver for this all-day VIP land rover excursion. We saw the scenic Lassithi Plateau, Krista, Katharo Plateau, windmills of the plateau, walked to the Dikteo Cave, and had a fantastic Cretan lunch. Highly recommend. It was nice to get to some cooler weather in the high ground.

I was incredibly disappointed by this company. After having to move my trip back to August 2023 from April 2023 because I got Covid, I rescheduled two safaris I had set up with them. It was agreed by them and I via email that the safaris would be moved to August 12th and 14th, and I was very excited for both. After arriving in Crete, I was not contacted by this company with any information regarding the safaris. I then reached out a day and a half before the first safari (Aug 12) to find the pickup time, and they responded with the dates and times. When I got this email, I did not recognize that they screwed up and had changed the dates to the 13th and the 15th. I was focused on the times, and assumed that they hadn't changed the dates without notifying me. Then when nobody picked me up on the 12th, I recognized that they had messed up the dates and contacted them about this. They were able to change the second safari to the 14th but refused to reimburse me for the first one, as I had contacted them about THEIR mistake with the dates literally a few minutes beyond the 24 hour cancellation window. I found this ridiculous as their scheduling mistake and lack of lead up communication had created the problem, so I kept pushing them to give me a refund. Their response to this was to cancel my second trip for calling them out, as they did not like my attitude SMH. They told me that they would provide me with a refund for the second trip, which they never did. Unfortunately this cancellation email went to my spam folder and had me waiting outside my hotel looking like a fool on the day that I was to have my second safari. Finding another excursion for this day, which was my last, was very difficult and I ended up choosing something that wasn’t really what I wanted to do. In summary this company’s mistakes really messed up the second half of my trip to Crete, and they refused to reimburse me.

I have no problem eating the money if the mistake is mine, but when a company is the one making the mistake they should be accountable and refund. Instead their solution was to punish me and ruin my last day in Crete. The way that this company handled this situation is really terrible business and I would not recommend them at all. I spent over $200 dollars and received no service or refund from them.

We are very sorry you missed your booked tour. That you do not read our confirmation e-mail (or "not recognize" the tour-date in it) is not our fault, its yours. By the rules of any excursion company (Viator/Tripadvisor and any others) you have to cancel 24 hours before, its not possible after. If you dont cancel in time, we are very sorry but its your fault also. We even offered to go another day what you dont wanted to accept.

Could not recommend this enough! We did this yesterday and we upgraded our original booking to see Knossos to the VIP experience and we are so glad we did. Minas was a fantastic guide and a really nice person - he showed us all around the plateau and we stopped off often in little small villages and by the side of the road to see some of Minas' favourite views. We also had a really nice lunch - very authentic with some lovely food and raki! By far the highlight of our holiday - thank you Minas!!

Wow what a fantastic experience! Michael was the most passionate, friendly tour guide with fantastic knowledge to share with us. The set up of the tour and the stops along the way to Zeus cave were very well thought out. We learnt so much about the island of Crete throughout the day and it felt like a very authentic experience. Michael was an absolute pleasure to share the day with - thank you Michael for making our trip!

Fantastic day to really get out and see the xountryside and towns of Crete. Our mulir lingual guide, Petra, was fantastic and enthused us all on her live of Crete. Zeus cave very interesting but unless you can do hundreds of step arderous steps up and down may not be for you.

We took the Discovery Jeepon a High Mountain Adventure today. What a fantastic day we have had 6 passengers in our very comfy seats set off up to see the wild beautiful mountains surrounding here. We passed through tiny traditional villages who gave us a warm welcome firstly in Kristis, where handmade local products were for sale at give away prices. After a coffee and toilet stop we headed higher up the mountain until a road which even Jeremy Clarkson would not have ventured!!! A few minutes later with sweaty palm our lunch destination was in front of us with the most amazing view of the Libyrean sea. This is still a home to Michalis where is is one room only with bed, 18 inch thick walls and wood burner keep him warm in winter. He cooked the most amazing lamb steaks and kebabs on wood fired rack and also chipped potatoes in olive oil, homemade from his trees, in a saucepan over another wood fired stone. The raki and wine were homemade, we had tsatsiki. To start with toasted bread and Greek salad and after the lamb and chips, fresh fruit of cherries, melons. What a really nice man, and a parting gift of Small bottles of raki, olive oil and (love) herbs to make tea!!!! We will see! The afternoon continued with surprises when we went to visit a spring and the whole Greek community seemed to having a feast. It turned out once a month the sheep have a ( haircut) and afterwards all the farmers wives children get together for a celebration, the offered us wine, which would have been ruse to refuse and honeycomb cut in slices, so delicious I asked if I could buy some. Which we were given directions to his shop and I bought 1 kg. from there we went o sandy beach and you could swim drink or relax in taverna. We had much longer out than intended but know now wanted the experience to end. Thank you for making special memories for us. A must if in the area

I think one of the highlights of the journey was all the knowledge our guide had about the island as well as all the towns and parts of Crete you get to see. Our driver was right on time to pick us up and off we went with one other couple. The drive over is a bit long, but we stopped several times for photo opportunities as well as to see the natural landscape and plants up close.

I will say that the hike is quite intensive, I was surprised by how overgrown the path seemed in some places and that a lot of the plants had thorns! Once we were in the shaded part of the path it was quite nice and the waterfall was beautiful. The water helped cool everyone right down and made for a pleasant journey back to the car.

Lunch was great, beautiful views and delicious food, what more can you ask for? The stop at the olive tree was interesting and our guide added in another stop at a chapel which was great. Overall a very informative day.

We stayed in Elounda and took a bout 2 hours to drive here, the drive was incredibly beautiful. So for the adventure bring hiking shoes, you are HIKING. there are not steps or cars or people to piggy back you up and it's steep and far. I saw people in flip flops and in heels. do not be them. the hikes up wasn't too aggressive but it's high. Once you get to the top you walk down i'd say 20 flights of stairs and see the amazing cave. it is so worth it. it's cool in there temp and aesthetics! then... you walk UP all those stairs and hike back down. breathtaking views and an amazing experience if you can do it i say go! Once you're done there are a few coffee and eating places we stopped n and had a great snack.
Before we went I thought I knew what I was about to get into but I definitely didn't prepare for a real hike. This is why i want to share. and tell you to DO IT!!!!!
