Look for the address, and don’t be misled by some of the pictures that are posted.
This Roman Catholic church is located in a little alley near the Cathedral of Eisodion.
There is a nice little sanctuary and a quiet garden.
Access to the Folklore Museum is through the garden.

Fairly unexceptional RC church with late 19th/early 20th century paintings. Two items of note: the Byzantine-style and apparently much older icon of Mary, the mother of Jesus, on the right hand wall towards the altar and a modern image of Jesus below the pulpit.

Having read the reviews, I had no difficulty finding the alley that led to the Roman Catholic Cathedral. From the outside it doesn't look like a church, though the Belfry is a clue. The interior is very elegant, and is a complete contrast to all the Greek Orthodox churches I visited in Crete. The atmosphere was serene. Outside there is a statue of St Francis set in a small garden among palm trees and flowering shrubs.

Take time to visit this Catholic Church which can be overlooked in favor of the splendid Greek Othrodox Church which dominates the plaza.

Tucked away at the end of a small alley we happened to stumble upon this tiny square with its small church and beautiful statue of St Francis of Assisi. Such a quiet contrast only a few minutes away from the cacophony of the shopping area!

We had a little trouble finding this beautiful little church. We knew it was right across the street from the Cathedral but, didn't know you had go in between shops and through a little archway to get to it. There is a wonderful little courtyard in front that welcomes visitors. Once you go inside you will see the gorgeous altars and statues that are all around. There is no fee to enter so go in and spend a few moments. You will not regret taking the time to reflect on your day.

We were glad we took the time to visit this little church when we were in Chania. It was built in 1842 on the site of the old monastery of Cappuccinos monks who arrived in Chania in 1566. Although it was a little difficult to find, we were glad we took the time to locate it. It was a pretty little church; its quiet atmosphere and beautiful altar were the highlights during our brief visit.

Peaceful free and worth it if you like quiet spaces
This place is a refreshing contrast to the horrendous big church in the square, no opulence or Chrystal light fittings here

This small church, accessed via an alley between shops, was a gem. Though I am not a church goer I found the appointments and decor, the altar and the art, to be of interest. It takes only a brief visit to get the flavor of it, longer if you are so inclined.

This has to be one of the prettiest churches I've ever been inside. It's not very big and we stumbled across it but the alter is absolutely beautiful.
