Nektarios is absolutely wonderful.
He started in a very positive way by promptly replying to all my emails (I came to Crete on holiday for a week and I was looking for a drop in class where to practice yoga).
This morning I attended the class at 10, which was a Mysore practice and I never did it before (I usually follow a teacher guided Ashtanga class). This wasn't a problem as he was happy to guide me through the sequences basically like a 1:1 teacher.
I also appreciated that he is very meticulous so he was correcting all of my postures until I was reaching the pose properly. This is so rare and it's a quality I value a lot.
The class costed €10, which is very good value for what you get (it was 1 and 1/2 hour class), plus 5-10' of relaxation.
I really recommend Nektarios and his yoga studio. He's such a friendly person and a very good teacher.

I was so lucky to attend two Mysore classes under the guidance of Nektarios himself during my week in Crete. I love his Shala and the way he teaches Ashtanga Yoga.

All levels of yoga are taught, with great teachers and fun pupils from all over the world.
Their garden grows their own food. Yoga not your thing ? There are plenty of other types of exercise - like ti chi, or if you want to hike, the hills are quite beautiful,with caves to explore. Like the sea? Crete is an island, the sea is non poluted, the sand white.
There are different levels also of sleeping arrangements,and therefore prices vary.

We went to Chania in september 2014. We had the pleassure of trying yoga at Ashtanga Yoga Crete. It was perfect since i'm a beginner. Nektarios was able to show us the basic. The class is for everyone so if, unlike me, you are a veteran, you will enjoy just as much.

Hello Laura,
You are welcome to our asthanga yoga classes.
It is on monday, wednesday, friday at 5pm & tuesday, thursday, saturday at 10am.
On thursday evening we also do a pranayama course.
Wednsday evening class is a guided backbending practice, the other classes are on Asthanga vinyasa yoga practice.
It is possible to have daily classes too if you inform earlier too.
The price for a drop in class is 10e.
Feel free to ask if you need anything else.
