We booked a private tour to Knossos, Heraklion and the villages as well as airport transfers to and from Chania. The tour was excellent and we were picked up by Alexandra exactly on time at our hotel. The timings of the day were perfect for us and we enjoyed the museum in Heraklion followed by a walk through the old streets to the waterfront. We then moved on to Knossos which we thoroughly enjoyed where Alexandra gave us some traditional snacks. We drove back to our hotel via the villages and Alexandra provided lots of interesting information along the way. All in all it was a fantastic day and we would not hesitate to book Lefteris again and would recommend to friends and family. The airport transfers were also excellent providing a relaxing beginning and end to the holiday.

Lefteris is outstanding! We had such a great experience with him during our time in Crete. He is so focused on providing the best customer service, but on top of that, he's just a fabulous human. He carted our family of 6 around for days teaching us about the island, making pit stops for beautiful pictures or roadside food stands and recommending other sites we may want to see. My son turned 17 on our last day and he gave him a treat to remember Crete. Also, my husband left his phone on the van when we were leaving the island and realized it as we were boarding the ferry. We saw Lefteris barreling back to the port to get him his phone before it was too late. Just a great experience - grateful for the time he spent with us!!

We had a great tour guide, Andreas. He took us to monuments, a very interesting walk through the city, a monastery, a fort and an olive oil factory. He told us we were having a "light lunch" (included in the tour price) and they served so much food we could have eaten for the rest of the week, but it was very good.

Had a bit of a disappointing experience all in all. After reading all the great reviews and lefteris being recommended by another website I decided to book a full day tour as a surprise for my husbands 70th birthday that he would be celebrating while we were on holiday. We had trouble with emails not getting through so finally got confirmation from lefteris through WhatsApp.
We should have been picked up at 9am but no one showed so rang up to check and they couldn't find my booking! But the man I spoke to said he would send a driver and still have our day out, fair enough. Within 10 minutes a driver came and off we went, we told him where we wanted to go and basically he took us the 3 places we asked for and left us there for as long as we wanted, he said "no rush" and we were paying him by the hour so he was happy. But by the time we got to our last destination he told us we only had half an hour because he had to do an airport run! We wasn't given any information about the places we visited so it wasn't a "guided tour" we had basically hired a taxi driver for the day, there was no time allowed for lunch and the 7 hour trip I had booked was squeezed into 5 hours, on the plus side it saved me €80.

We traveled to creye as a cruise stop with our group of 8. Our 4 kids ranged in age from 3 to 16. We were picked up on time from the arrival terminal in the beautiful mini bus and welcomed with bottled waters and warm conversation. Our driver Michaelis and our guide Lena (not sure about spellings) made sure we were all comfortable and safe. On our way to Zeus Cave, we stopped at a beautiful monastery that was actively having mass in traditional geek orthodox. We were able to witness the mass actively going on. It was like history come to life here. We also stopped at the old windmills for some great pics and to see the old mills. The trek to Zeus cave was fun despite the incline. The 14 yo and 69 yo in our group did opt to take the donkeys to the top while the rest of us walked. Michaelis and lena were so patient with us as we sampled local olive oils at the base of the cave and made our selections as well as enjoyed fresh fruit. We were able to drive through local villages and then enjoy a delicious Cretan meal. We all 8 had a fabulous day and are so grateful for our time spent here! Special thanks to our guide and driver who were so patient with us, taught us so much, and showed us many beautiful things in Crete. We highly recommend them!

Lefteris is the BEST! Do yourselves a favor and, if you are visiting Crete, book a tour with him (and his family). His family-owned business provides tailored, customized experiences for your group. They have options for groups of various sizes in clean, comfortable vehicles, including my family of 8 who visited Crete during a cruise.

The best part about touring with Lefteris was the fact we got insider access to incredible local spots we wouldn't have been able to see without him - including a local shepherd's Greek yogurt shop and a tour/demo of a family-run olive oil producer.

Lefteris is both extremely knowledgeable about Crete's history and culture, and also incredibly personable, kind, engaging, and humorous. We weren't sure what to expect during our day in Crete, and Lefteris delivered an experience that none of us will soon forget! 10/10 recommend Lefteris and his family for an amazing, authentic experience of Crete!

This summer we used the services of Eleftherios Nikiforakis. We could not have found a better taxi service to travel with. Eleftherios was incredibly friendly and kind, and went out of his way to show us the best spots on the island. He offered to take group pictures and taught us about the history of Crete. While on the road, he even stopped to show us the flowers used to make the famous liquor ouzo. The vehicles were very luxurious and well-kept. We couldn't praise him, and his lovely daughter, enough!

My wife and I had an amazing tour with Lefteris Nikiforakis Tours (Taxi Tours of Crete). It’s a family owned tour company who will design the tour to fit your needs. Our tour guide was the daughter, Alexandra and she was awesome. She was very personable and loved her job. She meet us at the port in Heraklion and then we spent the next 5 hours touring the town of Iraklion, the Cathedral, the open market and the tomb of Nikos Kazantzakis. We also went to the palace of Knossos and drove through small villages to see how the local people lived. We also ate at a local cafe during the tour. Everything was ver professional from the first email to being dropped off at the cruise ship. I would highly recommend using Lefteris and his company.

Lefteris was outstanding! I am short of words when it comes to compliments. He was kind, attentive, responsible, caring, funny and knowledgeable. It was a tremendous pleasure to have him drive us to several destinations. He went above and beyond in order to help us have the best possible time. He took care of every detail in anticipation, so everything would be perfect for us!

My family and I recently took my mother-in-law on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate her birthday, and the cruise ship's itinerary included a day on Crete, docking at Chania. Because my mother-in-law has some trouble walking, we thought the best way to see the area would be by private car, with a guide. We found Lefteris online and hired him for the day. What a wonderful experience! Although he is from Iraklion, on the eastern side of the island, he knows all of Crete inside and out. He met us at our ship with his very comfortable Mercedes taxi. We had emailed him before our visit to tell him the kinds of things we were most interested in seeing, and he had lots of suggestions for us. We would NEVER have been able to put together such a wonderful tour on our own. In addition to the major sites we asked to see (such as Aptera, a largely unexcavated Minoan city near Chania), Lefteris took us to some fabulous sites with breathtaking views overlooking the city, the peninsula, and Souda Bay to give us an overview of the region. There were several things we particularly appreciated about him:

- He knows lots about the local flora and fauna, and he stopped maybe a dozen times to snip native herbs, vegetables, and flowers and teach us about them.

- He was very accommodating of my mother-in-law's need to move slowly, adapting our itinerary to include a coffee break in a small cafe near Aptera for her, lending her his arm to help with walking, and making sure that the visit was a great one for all of us.

- He took us to lunch in a restaurant popular with locals in a (very) small village - completely off the tourist track - and ordered several local items for us (homemade wine, and an incredibly yummy yogurt dish with thyme honey) that we would never have known about.

- His enthusiasm for Cretan culture shows in everything he does. He even played a couple of CD tracks in the car for us to teach us the difference in music from mainland Greece and from Crete.

We can't recommend him highly enough. We're hoping to go back to Crete sometime within the next few years to see the eastern side of the island, and we'll be contacting Lefteris again.
