This summer we used the services of Eleftherios Nikiforakis. We could not have found a better taxi service to travel with. Eleftherios was incredibly friendly and kind, and went out of his way to show us the best spots on the island. He offered to take group pictures and taught us about the history of Crete. While on the road, he even stopped to show us the flowers used to make the famous liquor ouzo. The vehicles were very luxurious and well-kept. We couldn't praise him, and his lovely daughter, enough!

I contacted Lefteris by e-mail and received a quick response. We discussed a possible itinerary for our short 4 hour visit to Crete and I decided to book a taxi. When my husband and I arrived in Chania on our cruise ship, we were greeted by our driver Xristos, close to the port. Xristos was friendly and showed us some great areas that we had not even considered. I was a bit disappointed that we did not see the sites we had mentioned to Lefteris, but that was just because we didn't have the time. We did enjoy the stops we made. You should know that this is a taxi service so we were dropped off at various stops and explored on our own. We visited a monastery, which was popular and crowded but still beautiful. We also visited a quiet park with a fantastic view of Chania. Next we stopped at the old market in Chania, which was full of restaurants and souvenir stores, and the old harbour, which had restaurants, etc. We ended with a drive through some small villages, with Xristos sharing some information about the area. It was a nice morning; I only wish we had more time to visit!

We used Lefteris’s service twice, both were excellent!!! We arrived late on ferry, was over 30mins late getting to Crete port, then 2-3hr drive to Chania. Our driver met us, was absolutely wonderful, friendly and understanding. He had fresh, cold water and even a wipe after a long day of traveling to help us feel refreshed. He wasn’t able to show us a lot since was late and dark, but was still informative and showed us what he could, gave us facts about the area and clearly has love for what he does and his country and sharing it with others is awesome!! Our driver on the return trip met us where planned, was early and waiting for us!! Was very early morning drive again 2-3hrs, was friendly and got us there early for our ferry. He was kind enough to even let us rest some on the trip!! Both drivers checked often on how we were and asked about stopping for bathroom breaks or food/snacks or coffee! I can not say enough nice things! Would recommend this service to anyone!!!! Will definitely be returning to Crete and will use again. Thanks!!!! Melissa

Lefteris pick up my husband, my sister and myself at our hotel in the capital of Crete. He proceeded to give us a wonderful all day tour of Crete ending in the evening at our lodging in Kalamaki. He is very knowledgeable about Crete and took us places we never would have found on our own. He was never rushed, gave us time at each stop to do some exploring on our own, providing local insight for us. He also was available by phone to offer assistance when we had an emergency. We consider him the best and will only have him do our tours in the future. Thank you, Lefteris!

Our cruise arrived at the Souda port which is the western side of Crete. Before coming, I was in email contact with Lefteris. He knew our ship would dock at around 12ish and we only had the afternoon to tour because my family of six likes to have dinner on the ship. I thought I would be disappointed because I would not get to see the sites I read about like the Knossos Palace, Rethymon etc. since it was several hours to drive to it. To my surprise however, I was not disappointed at all, Crete became our favorite port of this cruise. Kristos is Lefteris’ nephew. He lives in the western part of the island while Lefteris lives in the eastern part so he was the designated private tour guide for us. We cannot be more pleased, he was prompt, immediately offering cold bottled water because it was a scorchingly hot day. His van was immaculate and he was charming and knowledgeable. He brought us to the Holy Trinity monastery, a secluded and gorgeous place where we visited a beautiful church and then sampled wine and olive oil made by the monks. We also visited the Venizeloz’ resting place atop a hillpark with breathtaking views, then he drove us around quaint villages pointing out the taverna, church and local square. Instinctively, he even knew we have to work in some time for gift shopping which he did. Kristos also took us to an olive oil factory where we had a private education on how olive oil are processed. The last stop was a windy road to the top of a mountain overlooking an ancient fort from the time of the Venetians. Kristos gave us history, culture, shopping and a whole lot of special treatment. We were for most part of the tour the only group there. No crowds, no cattle call, we were made to feel like VIPs. I thoroughly recommend a tour with Kristos. Our visit was in August 2019. You can email Lefteris for a tour and he will respond.
