I went together with my girlfriend to this place due to the nice reviews. The staff was very friendly with us but the experience was not nice. In the first room they have some 3D painting to take some pictures and they explain you a bit about what you see. The main attraction is the 9D cinema experience. The headphones were not very good and I could barely hear the voice. Most of the time I could only hear the compressed air for the special effects. At some point we could see double image and made us very dizzy. I am a tall person also and as the seat was moving I could touch the floor and it was a bit disappointing. The graphics were also a bit hilarious. Maybe for children this is a nice experience but for young/adult people it is not.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate your feedback but you should have dedicated 5 minutes before your visit to realise that Minoan's World is not suitable for you. Our movie is based on the myths and history of the Minoan civilisation! COVID-19 impact has been hard on everyone, please reconsider your review!

If you are seriously interested in the archaeology of Crete, skip this and take a trip to Knossos. If you get a good tour guide, you will learn a good deal more than sitting on this 'experience'. Save your money and buy a good bottle of rakomelo!

I went there with my fiancee who is Irish. All the stuff, the lovely girl and the two gentlemen were awesome, fluent in English, with a generous smile and willing to answer all our questions. I had some concerns, I was a bit anxious because I ve never had a similar experience and they eased all my worries. The movie was great, full of history and the special effects were amazing.I highly recommend this place for the experience it offers and for the great stuff. We will go again!! Thank you so much!

Incredible and highly enjoyable experience. Definitely very different to the usual West Cretan holiday activities. Educational and fun. An excellent way to spend an hour and break up the “culture “ for our two teenage boys. Would love to see the facility developed to more than just the cinema.

What a pleasant surprise to be rained upon in the middle of summer ! This is one of the effects this 9d cinema has.The children next to us were screaming when they saw a rat jumping at them in 3d..People of all ages are having fun..The service is very friendly. Do visit it if you have the time.

We went here because of the stellar TripAdvisor reviews. However, we were shocked to find that the museum consists of a single room with cartoon-like paintings of Greek mythology. The tour of the room with paintings lasted perhaps 5 minutes and was not overly informative. It seemed as though the "3D" paintings were mainly there for selfie opportunities. Not exactly the type of selfie two adults are interested in..

The 9D film was extremely cheesy and the special effects were laughable. It was an animated film with graphics from what seems like an early 1990s computer game. The wind and water effects as well as the seat movement did not seem to align with what was happening on the screen, and therefore seemed completely unnecessary. Occasionally we were squirted in the face with water or blasts of air for seemingly no reason. Also there are a few times when air is violently ejected at the legs at a pressure so great that it hurts.

Not recommended unless you have time machine to go back to 1979. The technology is so outdated it made us laugh. I have seen far better 9D films literally decades ago. This was definitely not worth 12 euro per person.

On a side note, it may be enjoyable for young children - very young children.

Thank you for your review. There were no 9d cinemas in 1979 !! Our 11 effects are state of the art . 95% of our guests are happy to take selfies, but you are not happy to do so. Our 3d museum is meticulously painted by hand, and most of our guests appreciate that ! We show our guests a 3 minute introduction [before our 15 minute movie] to the MINOAN CIVILISATION,so we are informative !!

Hi folks,
“To make the long story short” - the museum is a laugh (small room with a few statues and wall pictures) and the movie is a really simple providing just a rough and very fast overview of the Greek/Minoan/Cretan history to spend so much money for.
Despite the terriffic reviews on Facebook/Google/etc. I would not recommend to visit it to anybody who really knows fantastic Greek, and especially Minoan/Cretan history.

Well what can you say? It's a 20-minute film about Minoan legends - complete with 3D glasses, moving seats, rain, wind, snow, and bubbles.
Our children (4 & 7) veered between being enthused and terrified, but seemed happy enough at the end and were chattering about it for hours afterwards.
The staff were brilliant - they let our youngest sit on my wife's knee so didn't charge her for a ticket, and they even turned the bubble machine on for them after the film finished! We were probably lucky that we had the place to ourselves.
The museum part is really just an extended photo opportunity with a series of props & paintings, but on the whole this was a nice way to break up a day of shopping and sightseeing in Chania.

I decided to go here due to so many fabulous TripAdvisor reviews. PLEASE, save yourself the time and money - it is not worth it. I honestly don't understand why there are so many highly rated reviews. The actual "museum" part is just a guide showing you around a single room for 5 minutes and directing you where to stand to take pictures. The movie is cheesy - my 9-year-old enjoyed the effects, but she was the only one. This museum is expensive and just not worth it.
