About
Chania Gastronomy was founded by the Academy of Gastronomy and Tourism, a certified educational establishment specializing in Cretan Gastronomy. It is due to the love for our region and its gastronomy, we decided to expand our educational activities to the visitors of Island Crete and help them grasp the essence of our wine and food culture. From this summer we launched cooking classes Loucerna Art Hotel The cooking Class take place every Tuesday only 10.30-14.30 Detailed information about cooking classes: Highlights: Preparation of a traditional Cretan village five-course lunch (wine and refreshments included). Includes: Five-course meal with local wine, apron and bandana, Book with recipes, coffee and refreshments on arrival. Time: 10:30 to 14.30 (~ 4 hours) Days: Tuesday, Location/Meeting place: Loucerna Art Hotel Language of instruction: English. Cost: 95€ per person (all taxes included). Payment: Cash,

Chania is lovely, quaint streets and tons of great restaurants and sandy beaches within a 10 minute walk. The harbour is lovely.

did the cooking class with wife and 2 kids (11/9). the food was great, accommodated wife who is vegetarian. wish there was more background on cretan cuisine as we were cooking. the setting is second to none on the outdoor terrace of the loucerna art hotel. the chef is great! manolis (the hotelier) was very nice. katarina was wonderful, as well.

Could not have been treated better. Welcoming and informative and all around a fun time. When we arrived, we had coffee and juices, enjoyed the views. Nikko showed us techniques and we enjoyed not only the cooking lesson but also his personality as well as Katarina. I would do it again!

Cooking class at Chania Gastonomy was such a great way to spend one of our days on Crete. Our group consisted of my daughters 13 and 16, my husband and myself, and my mother. We all enjoyed the class, and of course - the end result - lunch! The ingredients were top notch and the portions plentiful. We all came away with some new skills to apply at home, and some simple, authentic Cretan recipes. We also enjoyed interacting with the other travelers. A huge thank you to Nick, our hostess and translator, Manolis (the owner), our chef, and the staff for such a fun experience.
(And, I almost forgot to add that the team was very gracious about adapting the recipes so that our daughter who is allergic to dairy could enjoy everything).

Just a delightful experience...the setting was charming...the chef and other staff warm, knowledgeable and fun...the food delicious and varied...learned some things to try again, especially the marinated chicken baked in yogurt and the mushroom stifada...carob cookies with cheese balls and grape syrup, a lovely end to a delicious meal..Do this...you’ll be glad you did!

We took a private cooking class here and had an incredible time. The view was incredible - on a hill overlooking the water and the town of Chania. We cooked several dishes and loved all of them. Super tasty and there was so much food - we couldn't even eat it all. The team spoke great English, was super attentive, fun and helpful. We learned so many delicious recipes and everything was thought of. We even received certificates and print-outs of the recipes we made. We definitely recommend this class to anyone visiting.

Very nice cooking experience. The food was delicious , we took the left overs home. lol

I and my partner came to Chania, Crete and decided to do this cooking class. It was in a beautiful location with a magnificent view.
The chef was lovely and showed us how to cook some gorgeous crete meals.
Manolis and Anna were such lovely hosts, full of fascinating stories and made it such a pleasant visit.
I would definitely recommend attending this class, not only for the food but the lovely people!

I had the pleasure in participating in the cooking class with the cook Iosief and his assistent. We prepared 6 different authentic cretan dishes. We got involved in the cooking - we made the food ourselfs with the help of the cook which was satisfying.
In the end, we enjoyed a meal of the 6 dishes with wine. We were also handed a book full of recipes of the dishes.
Overall a very pleasant experience.

A unique journey to Cretan cuisine.We enjoyed every minute of our cooking class. Chef Iosif is very friendly and helped us understand the local way of cooking. A place to visit if you are a gastronomy fan.
