Amalthea was the goat that fed milk to Zeus when he was a child. The story is that as Zeus was playing with Amalthea he broke of her horn.

Just a short stroll around from the harbour and main port good views of the opposite bay and some benches to sit if you need a rest from the searing heat

This sculpture sticks out on its own peninsula over the water. At night, its beautifully lit by all the restaurants and bars. If your fortunate to be there during a full moon, it makes for a perfect photo op. Not worth a trip to see...More

This is one of a number of sculptures on the sea shore of Agios Nikolaos - not sure what it represents but it does make a focal point for photos of the sea and scenery!
