Great value for money. Went with kids aged 8 and 11. We all had a great trip. Seated close, but most comfortable during 1st part of trip, where we saw tons of sealife and the beautiful seabed, incl cracks from earthquakes and other sights. (no dolphins or turtles. These are extremely rare, so be cautious of anyone guaranteeing to see these). 2nd part of the trip was a “above water” sightseeing of various beautiful beaches and coastlines as we sailed back towards the harbour. We definitely recommend this trip. We took the 11 o’clock departure, and went straight from there to nice lunch and afternoon at the beach.

Children have noticed the submarine while being in the restaurant on the hill above the lake. So the trip seemed to be inevitable 😊. At the pier it turned out, that the only one trip was left for that day and all the tickets were sold out… (advice: It is a good idea to book the ticket through the internet in advance). I appreciate big hearts of people on duty (especially Nikos and the Captain). They managed nevertheless to take us onboard. As an extra guests only children fitted into underwater deck, adults did not. So I believe it was a really difficult decision to get us onboard. (I must state a discount was made for those who had to stay on upper deck.) The 1.5 hour trip was excellent. We went to the open deck, and had a great private time at sea with the marvelous views on the shore, at the nearby island (the ship travels close to it) and through the clear water at fish. We have even seen a stingray! First part of a trip (about an hour) guests stay underwater, so we were on the upper deck alone. Then others came along and the ship went to Elounda bay and then back to the dock. There is an audio on English/French/German describing what we are passing by, or what fish we are looking at. So 5 star from me for the humanity of the team and overall quality of a trip. I definitely advice it, and will take a jorney myself again when step by next time at Agios Nicolas (usually once a year for one day, but almost every year during last 10).

The explaination that was given during the the boat trip was really good. The staff was really nice and helpful. What could have been better was that it was packed. There were a lot of people.

A pleasant 90 minutes, looking at some of the local fish. Don't expect to be blown away by the variety but, for the cost, it's a fun excursion and just the right length of time. The submarine part does feel fairly cramped and half the people are stuck facing inwards, towards the other side of the bottom of the boat. It's not a problem, as long as the person behind you doesn't mind you peering over their shoulder to get a better look. Don't do this trip if you are claustrophobic!
