Loved the Cretan Olive Oil Farm. Children were thrilled by the experience. We booked private experiences and setting them up and communication was outstanding. They were very accommodating with helping us set up a length of time that would work best for our children. We booked the pottery studio for an hour and the kids were able to ship home one of their creations which made a great souvenir. The adults that didnt do the pottery wandered the grounds which was nice while we waited. We then did the cheese making and learning from Kosta was amazing. This was a perfect length for our three 10 year olds. There was lots of other options if we were able to stay longer when the kids are older.

We booked the Cretan Panaroma and it was good fun, we were there with our 2 children. The only thing that irritated me was that there were other people who did not book the tour who also joined in during the goat milking, cheese-making and other stops. Only at the cooking class then it was clear that it was only a few who actually booked the tour. Given the high charges for the Cretan Panorama, it might be fair to limit it at least to a small group that booked.

This location near Agios Nikolaus was a couple hours' drive from where we were staying in Rethymnon, but it turned out to be one of the best things we did anywhere in Greece. Our family of 6 did the Panorama tour, which was a 3 1/2 hour combination of olive oil production, cheese-making, and a lengthy cooking lesson (dolmades & tzatziki) that turned out to be a GREAT and large lunch, included for about 1/2 the price (or les) of a standard shore excursion. There were 22 in our group, with about half from a cruise ship, and the rest just families. The presenters were knowledgeable and very entertaining. We learned a lot and had a great time. HIGHLY recommend. The olive products shop at the end was really good, too, and no pressure to buy.

We had a wonderful time learning about Cretan pottery and trying our hand at making our own pots. Konstantinos was a very knowledgeable and patient instructor, with an obvious love for his craft. I would highly recommend the pottery workshop and the farm tour.

An amazing place to stumble on! We were made to feel so welcome from the start. We had no idea they offered really interesting workshops/experiences, so having just walked around to get a feel for the place, we decided on olive pressing (on 140 year-old equipment) on one day and cheese making (which included milking a goat) on another. A relaxed but informative atmosphere, near the sea. These guys are clearly knowledgeable about the subjects offered, with family links back into full-time experts whose lives depended on it. So strongly recommended for those who might like such options.

Came for a wine tasting, it was delayed so got a free olive farm tour for an apology while we waited. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they ensured we were well hydrated and offered us mosquito repellent for the tour. During the wine tasting we were in the sun and it was a hot day so the staff kindly moved our whole table and even made a make shift roof so we were covered.
Highly recommended day trip.

7 euros PP for a guided visit in English which took about I would say 45 minutes.. we see a (very) small garden to see botanical diversity and a film on how they do the olive oil... the lady guide was very nice.
this activity is more for family with children... a bit disappointing especially the fact that there is no unit of production on site which would have been interesting...
price is fair for what it is and it remains something to do..
the very good point of this is the shop where one can find some very good products and the prices are reasonable..

Wow what a fabulous little place! We were staying just around the corner and we were looking for an experience on one of our quieter days here. The Cretan Olive Oil Farm did not disappoint!
The staff were so welcoming, so knowledgable and keen to ensure you got the most out of your visit.
We paid €5 euros each for a tablet e tour of the farm and it was brilliant. There was also staff on hand to help and tell you even more.
The shop at the end is then fantastic with you being able to sample olive oil, honey, balsamic vinegar and more.
It was a fantastic authentically Cretan experience and I’m very glad we visited! Would highly recommend!

Surprising old farm turned into a demo place for Cretan products, steps from big hotels. With such neighbors we expected the worst but the place turned out to be both instructive and pleasant. For a modest fee you can tour a number of spots with informations on various farm products, plus taste them. Instructive and would certainly be interesting for kids as well. There are other offers, like cooking courses etc that need to be booked in advance. Walking distance from downtown.

Just no value for money. We payed 13 Euros for seeing some old olive oil equipment and some herbs. Oil tasting is just a selling booster. They do not even offer bread for oil tasting

Hi is this place suitable for a 3 and 5 year old that love baking and are use to animals and enjoy pottery painting?

The 5 year old might be able to withstand an hour of it but there’s really a lot of slow explanations of each process and not exactly exciting for kids. It was all adults on my tour and during the cooking lesson it was also a slow explanation for each step...a 3 year old would definitely get bored after 15 minutes there.

So there is a poor donkey tied all day for the visitors to see how he is used??

Hello!
Persephone is free 24/7 in her little house and open space underneath the olive trees. Occasionally she takes 5 minute walks with kids underneath the age of 12. She stays here for 5 months and goes back to her friends in Rethymno in a 20.000 sqm land. Our factory is operated by humans, for demontrations and small winter production. We do not allow the use of the donkey even when we are requested for it.
Thank you.

Dear Camy,
Hello!
Thank you for the message and the interest in our activities!
Unfortunately our bus doesn't run from the town of Stalida. If you would like to get here you need to take the bus to the central station of Agios NIkolaos and then change for the bus to Elounda. The bus stop is right outside our farm. Most of the drivers are aware of the stop so make sure to let them know where you are headed.
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Costas and the rest of the family
