Me and my partner were staying very close by (Mirabello Hotel) to this church and would pass it most days walking into Agios Town. We decided to investigate further and was not disappointed. The church itself is situated in the grounds of the Minos Hotel....More

This church is located just inside the main entrance to Minos Palace Resort. The security guards at the entrance kindly pointed it out and advised that one could get the key during daylight hours by going up the hill to Reception and asking for it.

This is very close to the Minos Palace hotel and is worth a quick look if you are staying there. Probably not worth going out of your way to see it. There are only a few pieces of the original frescoes incorporated into the walls.

This is a beautiful place to visit with a wonderful church overlooking the lake. Surrounded by restaurants and cafes a very relaxing place. You can catch a boat from here for half day trip to Spingolonga island.

The tiny 10th/11thC chapel of Agios Nikolaos after which the town is named is a pleasant stroll along the coast to the north of the town. The chapel is in or adjacent to the grounds of the St Nicholas Bay Resort Hotel. It was locked...More
