We have literally got out of our tour minibus 10 minutes ago and feel compelled to say how good the tour was. Whilst some may have been disappointed that they were not in a land rover, the Mercedes Vito was so comfortable it had been highered and the suspension hardened to make the off roading comfortable and it was great with beautiful AC blasting all day.
Gary picked us up bang on time and took us to our transfer.
Thomas was our guide and he was fantastic, delivering constant information and facts on herbs by the side of the road, olive trees, vultures and buzzards and the goats in the trees. He was open to any question and got us all to know each other as we were spending 8 hours together. He brought so. Much personality with singing, participation clapping and themed music.
There were plenty of stops for amazing pictures, Thomas being a closet David Bailey.
The Caves of Zeus were on the itinerary but Thomas read the room well and recognised that not everyone could make the 220 step climb so offered 2 alternatives. The visit to Lasinthos Eco park was a pleasant surprise
Raki was the order of the day, honey was amazing and the stop at the Taverna for a simple but delicious Cretan lunch topped it all off nicely
All in all this was a great day
And a special thank you to Thomas for lending money so I may purchase some local goods. Lack of electricity and Internet meant no card machine but Thomas stepped in.

We did a private tour for a group of 7 adults. It included an olive oil factory, the Cave of Zeus, gorgeous mountains and plateaus and lunch at a restaurant in a cute mountain village.
Our guide, Jeff was outstanding. Originally from Great Britain but a resident of Crete for 20 years. He was funny, informative and shared his passion for this beautiful island.
Jeff was definitely 5 star, but I rated a 4 because of the design of the tour. We left at 9am but didn’t stop for lunch until 3pm which was ridiculously late. And the food at the restaurant was plentiful and nice presentation but not very good. And I was frustrated that they were not prepared for the food allergies in my group despite more than a week of detailed correspondence about them.
So I would recommend the company and the tour but negotiate the route and timing in advance and don’t expect any food allergy accommodation…bring your own snacks.

Thank you very much for your detailed review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the day out with Jeff. As you were on a private day out and you alternated the route to your wishes, the lunch was a little later than usual. We made sure that specific ingredients were not in the food but as the lunch is served in little mountain villages, they don’t provide substitute products, like gluten free bread, which we informed you about. We are sorry to hear that the food was not to your liking and we will investigate if the food was to our standards on the day and assure you that we always try to improve our service.

Our guide Geoff was fab very knowledgeable and made the group all feel welcome as I solo traveler I never felt alone
We visited a factory that produced olive oil and were shown the process on how it was made We visited the birth place of Zeus ,transitional village for lunch which fab and included in the cost we visited the 2000 old Plane tree went through goat valley and managed to feed some ,so many opportunities for fabulous photos.
Geoff was the perfect guide nothing was too much trouble and we were encouraged to ask anything . If I visit Elounda again I will definitely use this company to experience the real side of Crete.

Great day out up the mountains in Crete. Our guide Visilis was very known about the area and also had a great sense of humor which made the day more enjoyable.
The trip included a visit to Zeus cafe, cheese tasting and feeding goats followed by a lovely lunch at a taverna is a quiet town.
Definitely recommend this trip for anyone looking for a day out. Picked up from the hotel on time and dropped back in the afternoon.

This is our first time in Crete and we have booked a Land Rover safari tour into the high mountains with olive/oil tasting, a visit to a shepherd who makes cheese and a visit to the Zeus cave with lunch in a tavern.
The trip was just great. Our guide Thomas was in a great mood and always ready with a good joke. He drove the vehicle confidently so that you felt safe at all times. Lots of interesting information about the island and the excursion destinations was also given.
All the destinations were super interesting and worth seeing.
All in all, a great trip that we can only recommend to everyone.

We booked a jeep safari through our Jet2 rep as we were advised to go and see Zeus' cave. We didn't pay too much attention to what else we were getting but knew we would be out most of the day and have lunch included. Chris our driver picked us up around 8.15am and we picked up a few more guests from other hotels to make up a jeep of 8 of us plus Chris. From the start Chris told us about the history of Crete, the route we were taking and what to expect. We drove up into the mountains, lots of dirt tracks and wobbly roads but Chris made us feel extremely safe despite the windy mountain roads that are two way but not a load of passing room. We stopped a few times to see a church, meet some gorgeous goats, have a local coffee and Raki and try some honey, more goats and stunning views and loads of interesting facts, lots of laughter and fun. We got to Zeus' cave where we went off on our own to experience the cave or the "theme park". We then went off to a local restaurant for an amazing delicious lunch and more Raki before coming back down the mountain homewards. It was the most fantastic day out , a 10/10 from all the family including our 12 and 16 year old daughters.

Excellent day. Worth the cost and got to see places in Crete we’d never have seen without the guide and this trip.
Our guide Daryl was very informative and made everyone on the tour feel comfortable and no question was unable to be answered.
Even though at the top of the mountain the cloud came in (take a jumper!) this was at the end of the season and just added to the atmospherics of the trip.
We booked through the jet2 reps and the cave wasn’t mentioned, take 6euros each for the cave and maybe a sturdy shoe as the climb on the ‘harder’ route is worth doing but pretty rocky.
Food was amazing in a traditional Greek restaurant and would have been worth the trip alone as off the beaten track and away from the tourist traps.
Overall excellent and Daryl excellent.

We are a young family with toddler and were advised to book onto the Minoan tour by the helpful staff at Safari Club via WhatsApp.
We were collected from our hotel at 8:40am and immediately put at ease by our driver and tour guide for the day, Jason, who can only be described as a character.
Jason has lived on the island for over 20 years, and his passion for storytelling about the island was really what made the day one to remember.
The route was well planned and our two year old was interested for the whole day.
The taverna we visited for lunch was fantastic. It boasted a panoramic view of the plain (over 1000 metres above sea level) and the food was exceptional; we got to sample a variety of local dishes with BBQ meat and salad accompaniments and finished with Greek yoghurt and local honey.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to explore the island, with or without kids. 5 star tour and guide!

Wow, what a wonderful experience! We reserved the safari for 4: 2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 9. We had an amazing day! The 2 couples who accompanied us were great. The mood was good. Of course, it wouldn’t have tasted the same without our great Greek and French Guide: Leonidas ⭐️⭐️‐️‐️‐️ he transmits his love of Crete with passion and humor. We were pleased by his kindness and kindness.
We visited small typical villages, an olive oil factory, the cave where Zeus was born, a mountain shepherd who makes cheese and raki. We were blown away by the beautiful scenery. This was a fantastic experience. Our guide Giannnis and the driver in our second vehicle Vasilis were both amazing and very thoughtful, especially with our wheelchair user. The lunch was amazing and we stopped at some beautiful locations. Would highly recommend the full day excursion!

Hello, is the Landrover open top? Does it have seat belts for all passengers as we had a bad experience in another country being driven at 70 mph on the motorway with no seat belts so need to know before we book!!!! Thanks
