The ferry was very punctual and the trip was comfortable (Santorini - Paros and back). Lots of space and amenities on the boat.

My partner and I had a ticket to go from Mykonos to Santorini and, after 20 minutes of the departure time, a ferry to Santorini has finally arrived. Once we were inside, they informed us that it wasn't the right ferry and, once holding our passports and IDs, the staff requested us to pay 85 euros per ticket! Of course we had no idea that it wasn't the correct company, since we are tourists and there were already so many names on the ticket - Seajets, Worldchampion Jet, Ferryhopper, and no information or signs to guide people around the port at all! Even the staff said this always happens to tourists, and it's clear that they don't check the tickets before getting on the ferry on purpose! Terrible experience!

This company has no intention to make things right for you. We were travelling with two young kids, arrived at the Pireaus port at noon and booked a 12.50pm ferry ride to Aegina at the main gate. We went to gate E8 and waited for the ferry, saw two Hellenic Seaway ferries but no Blue Star ferries. We were told Blue Star ferry hasn't arrived yet and just wait. At 1.15pm, we checked with the Blue Star ticket booth to see why there was still no ferry, and was told the Hellenic Seaway ferry was our boat and we already missed it. We asked if we could get on the next ferry, and was told no we had to buy new tickets. Then they told us after we get to Aegina we can use these as return tickets. We bought new tickets, got to Aegina, and went to the Blue Star ticket booth again, there we were told they couldn't do anything for us, but we can call head office on Monday and they will let us use those tickets for another trip. Clearly we were never able to use those tickets as we were flying out the next day, there was zero intention to help us in any way from the beginning, there was no mention of Blue Star and Hellenic Seaway were the same company by anyone, and there was intentional misleading so we missed our boat and they could charge us again. This company will gladly take your money, but don't expect them to be there for you when you need them. Very terrible experience with this company, would avoid in the future.

Worst transportation ever. Poorly unorganized. I’m a type one diabetic and had a low blood sugar event on the bus. I was asked to put away my low blood sugar snack because no food is allowed from the man collecting money for tickets and sitting near front of bus. No sign indicates this and for a medical emergency it was deemed necessary. He threaten to kick me off the bus during a low blood sugar and it could have cost me my life. I highly recommend a different mode of transportation.

We took the ferry from Piraeus (Athens) to Paros and back again later in the week. The way out was fine, much comfier, the boat was a lot bigger and less busy than on the return journey.
Luggage storage was a complete mess- so disorganised and a free for all, someone could easily make off with your case.
On the way back it was chaos - only a very small section was economy, with everything business class only meaning there was a free for all to find a seat. The only seats available for economy were a small bit in the cafe and outside at the back. Not very good given the number of people and seems a money making scheme to get people to upgrade.
Cafe was overpriced (as expected) and the only option for food (unlike the boat on the way there that had a fast food restaurant too). Make sure you bring drinks and snacks with you to avoid their prices, €3 for a can of coke!
Was a means to an end but experience could definitely be improved.

Definitely book a cabin for families if it's a long ride , for example we had a 7:25 a departure and after all five days of touring athens it was helpful to sleep and relax for santorini ahd the teens loved it like a mini camp for them. All the other areas were clean , spacious and not even crowded ! I was so worried with the few negative reviews but ignore them. You get on board as soon as you arrive then relax until the ferry departs . No seasickness with our child is prone to it . Good food , drinks, views everywhere very clean and friendly . Tip: set alarm 20 min to get near the exit so you don't miss you departure cause it will leave .

The boat was on time, there is quite a lot of room for people to sit inside or outside. You'll find a bar at each floor, proposing food and drink, and they accept card, which is a bonus. The organisation can however be a bit messy when you embark and disembark (with the suitcases for example).

We rented a cabin for 4 on the Paros ship from Mykonos to Athens. The cabin was clean, well equipped, quiet and a fantastic value for the trip!
We tried coffee and cake on our way and both items were high quality. The staff was professional and courteous and the ship was well maintained and clean. Highly recommend this ferry service.

Anyone board a blue star ferry at Piraeus with a car? What is it like? I am a bit nervous about the process because i do not speak the best Greek and want to make sure i board properly so i dont have trouble disembarking at the proper stop.

We had a short overnight crossing, so we had a comfy cabin with private bath. You can google "images for blue star ferries cabins" and see the different outfits.

ΠΟΛΛΆ χρόνια η ίδια κατάσταση δυστυχώς στα απαγορευτικά συμβαίνει με αν όχι όλες τις περισσότερες εταιρείες
Hi, Just a Question please, how much did you pay for your one way ticket on Bluestar ferries, I am attempting to go through their online site and finding it very difficult to even input a date etc. I understand there are different catagories but any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

Hi there, we bought our tickets at the ticket office on each island we visited. We planned the times of ferries before we went & bought tickets enroute. We didn’t book on Blue Star website as it didn’t always work & at times it doesn’t show it’s secure. It’s really easy to get the tickets on the islands, we had no issues at all.
