Well, that says a lot about the attitude of the fans - expect a lot of pyro before the kick-off. Atmosphere is very good. We were watching an Olympiakos game against AEK Athens - one of the heatest rivals. The stadium itself is OK, easily accesible from Athens by metro.

Always love going to the stadium with my family. This time we decided to enter Thira 7. This is where the Hooligans live. I call them great fans myself. True love of the game. We won so it made my visit extra special. Kids had a blast.

This is the Olympiakos Club stadium and its located just before the Piraeus port (easy to access by metro). The stadium is quiet modern and has an interesting structure to see football matches. It has a really good team store on one of the side, just below of one of the main stands, and holds a large collections of items from the Club. It has usually a lot of bargains and sale items so, if you are a football fan, you should check it out and get some cheap football shirts (rather than buy it in the city centre).

We were in Athens for my sons birthday, and he is a huge football fan, so wanted to experience the European game. We researched which teams were playing at home and ended up at Olympiakos on a Sunday evening. We struggled to buy tickets for the match online but had been advised by our hotel receptionist to just arrive at the ground an hour early and buy tickets there. This is only advisable if Olympiakos are playing a small club, I can imagine needing more time if there are more supporters, we arrived 2 hours early.
Firstly you must buy a membership card which is €10, these are available from 4 membership windows near gate 19 (correct at time of writing), then you need to go further along and buy your tickets for the match at the ticket offices (Red kiosks). You need your passport to buy tickets. Prices were really reasonable at €40 for an adult and €10 for a child.
Once you have your tickets, you are good to go. The stadium seems very new, its massive, toilets and stadium are very clean.
Unlike UK football matches, my bag was not searched, but it was just a small handbag. Smoking and vaping were going on in the stands, and men were walking around selling snacks, beers and soft drinks.
I'll be honest, as a Mum, I was worried about the local fans, I had heard about "hooligans", but the atmosphere was electric, the ground staff super helpful, the pyrotechnics/flares added to the excitement and the fans were amazing, none stop chanting and singing, and the football was phenomenol.

Worst stadium ever. Dirty. Bad crowd. Bad neighbourhood. Not safe to park around. Plus it smells bad. 👎

European football is great, but at KARAISKAKI its BIBLICAL on all levels and at times better than se x.

Beats the atmosphere at any british ground without a doubt - this is FACT.

OLYMPIAKOS vs ac milan was AMAZING. Olympiakos had to win by to clear goals.

2-0 up, 2-1 then 3-1.

As per usual the Greeks are a masterclass at choreography and pyro.

You will not experience a better night than a European game here at OLYMPIAKOS.

The stadium is well placed and easy to get to, as you have both the Metro station and the Tram station close by.

Very good soccer field! Modern tent with covered ceilings. It is the headquarters of Olympiacos FC and the National Team. Several stores in its precinct. Easy access by all transport means. I was in awe when I started to think about how many players have played there... Very good acoustic for concerts as well... Do not forget to visit the boutique. Parking is a bit small ...
