A small church with rich history and popular among newly weds. The religious icons in the church, the wall, is truly a marvel and must-see for historical and religious art enthusiasts alike.

This small church is on the way to Filopappous hill, and it's in front of Socrates prison. Nice church with a few icons, the most interesting aspect is the texture in the external walls.

This is an understated but pretty little 15th century Byzantine church, located a little off the main tourist trails, with amazingly textural external walls (see photos) We would suggest coupling a visit with a walk up Philopappos Hill!

This very old church is well hidden from the crowds, literally! Just a bit down from the Acropolis and at the foot of Philopappou hill, it is in amongst the trees and bushes and rather difficult to find. We came across it by accident rather...More

This church lies at the base of the Acropolis and Filopappas Hill, and, although it is on a wide walking path, it lies somewhat hidden in the trees. It is worth a look. The church itself is built with an interesting mix of stone, brick,...More
