Magical Night out
Feb 2019 • Couples
A really magical venue, one of Athens'hidden jems. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food and service very good, and the show spectacular.
Ms Chance & Mister Choice is really a World-class act. An amazing experiance and we will defenetly visit again.
BTW the place has a very good web page with details of all its events, as well as a full menu and wine list. I called in advance and asked about the show and the person at the other side of the line was very polite and helpful.
A must visit when in Athens!

Performer ignored presence of the crowd
Dec 2017
We visited the place with friends aiming to listen to some good cabaret type music. When entering the place the feeling was good, a nice atmosphere, quite comfortable seats and table, expectations were met until then. Menu was ok, nothing extraordinary but quite well cooked dishes. However food was not the basic scope of our visit, but music. The singer appeared almost an hour later than scheduled. Her appearance (styling) had nothing to do with cabaret, bur never mind that. She never contacted the crowd, never even smiled truly, it felt like she was singing in her own bathroom. She only talked, to complaint about technical aspects to the sound engineer. The orchestra was excellent, though they looked like relieved after managing to complete each song. In such a place i thing performers should be more carefully selected. Otherwise, they could turn it into a restaurant and have some musicians as secondary entertainment.

Mixed experience

This is a place with a really nice atmosphere and nice waiters. The food wasn't that good, more like a 3. The band and singing all in Greek was nice and intensive. So because of this I rate this a 4 if you want a good evening out.

I am confused
Nov 2016 • Couples
Well, I don't know what to think about this place. To start, the name is Spanish but the food they serve is Italian. Let's be fair and say straight away that what I ordered was really good. Fresh ingredients, properly cooked, tasty, yes, good food in a very beautiful decor.
But then my friends, comes the show. It looks like they kicked the guitar player and the singers out of an Irish bar for being to loud and making their music unbearable to the drunken English lads roaming around still hung over from the night before!
Again, let me remind you that this place is called Convent and that people going there (or at least I) would expect Spanish music.
Last but not least, note that they will charge you 10€, even if you came to eat, for ruining your fine dinner with loud, poor jukebox music you wouldn't even give 50 cents for if it were a guy on the street playing it...

Hidden Gem in Athens
Feb 2015 • Couples
This is a great venue in the Metaxourgeio area of Athens. It's a beautifully decorated space, with a gothic-style theme, lots of stone, dark reds and blacks, etc, along with some beautiful, elaborate lights, creating a lovely atmosphere. The waiters wear black with a faux priest color to along with the convent theme of the venue. They have different forms of entertainment on different nights. The night that we were there featured a Greek jazz ensemble, which was a lot of fun. Things don't get going until a bit later in the night, which I found to be normal for Greece, but for us visiting from the US, expect to be having dinner at around 9:30 at the earliest. Doors are at 9:00pm. This is not a complaint in any way, but something to keep in mind, if you're used to eating dinner at 6:00ish.

The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful, especially with the menu, as it is only in Greek.

There is a separate cover charge for the entertainment, and your meal. The entrance fee was 10 Euro per person for the show, and dinner was about average for a venue of this quality. The food was excellent, and worth the money that we spent, as was the lovely wine.

If you're staying in the more touristy areas, you might get some odd looks if you tell people that you're looking to go into Metaxourgeio at night. Honestly, the area didn't seem that bad to us, though we're used to wandering around New York City at all hours of the night. It's not as pristine as the Plaka, of course, but we didn't feel uncomfortable being there. The area was busy enough that we had no problems grabbing a taxi right around the corner, so you don't have to spend much time in the area if you don't want to.

This is definitely a worthwhile place to look into for a wonderful dinner, and some unique entertainment that's a little bit off the typical tourist map. I look forward to dining here again when I'm next in Athens.
