Unless you are staying at a hotel which has amazing views of the Acropolis, then this is well worth a visit. It's just a quick walk up the hill round to another ancient monument (be sure to read all about it whilst up there) but...More

Easy walk up and down, took about an hour in total (with quite a while hanging around at the top looking at the view). There's a small ruin at the top, still has some carvings in it. Potentially a bit of bouldering near the top...More

Some great sights, but BEWARE OF THE STRAY DOGS!!! When I was visiting Filopappos Hill I was bitten by a stray dog, completely unprovoked. I was walking past a group of four-to-five stray dogs, and when I had almost passed them, one of them came...More

While the spectacle of the Acropolis brings a heavy, steady flow of tourists (and rightfully so) Filopappos hill offers a far more subdued atmosphere while still contributing great views of the city's most recognised landmark. There's lots to see on the walk up to the...More

Everyone visiting Athens has to make time for this. It is only an easy 15 minute walk up a path for this great view of the Acropolis and the rest of the city. We went midday in July and there were only one or two...More

It's an easy walk up the hill but the views make you feel you have been on a big hike. It's great to see the sea and all the possibilities of the Greek Islands but as always it seems the parthenon is the star of...More

Don't bother climbing the other Hill if you're far from it. This has amazing views of the acropolis and the rest of Athens

Filopappos hill (as well as muses hill and nymphs hill in same place) has the best view of Acropolis, especially when lighted at night time. Also quite tranquil place, nice panorama towards the sea, other places - 7 seets (that is quite interesting!), some tombs,...More

Wonderful view to Acropolis and city. Some forest, not too much people. Good paths all the way up. Some other ruins too beside Filopappos monument.

There is no parking beside the hill, the closest parking will be either the Acropolis parking or down beside the acropolis museum. You'd be best parking down on Mitropolis Street and walking up from there.
