We must have spent an hour sampling the oils, foods and wines/Ouzo with the owner. Really really nice bloke, very helpful and genuinely there to assist and make the visit enjoyable. They also own a carved wood shop three doors down and again, definitely worth a visit.
Overall, when we go back to Athens, we will 100% be visiting the Taste of Greece!

I found this little shop on my last day shopping in the Plaka. I wasn't pushed into buying anything but the owner was very helpful. I bought some olive oil, skin care and body lotion. I have to say that it is the best I have ever used!! I wish I had of stocked up on more, although I didn't have much room left in my bag :) so will definately be trying to buy online. I can highly recommend these products.

This little shop provides everything you would like to take back with you after a holiday in Greece. Providing delicacies and local products, there is a wide range of great products that you can take back with you for your own or for presents to your friends. They have a great supply of extra virgin olive oil - the top quality brands that have won awards. I picked up a new product (that is what the shop owner told me), which also caught my eye. It is called evo3 extra virgin organic olive oil which is also a social enterprise planting one tree for every bottle sold. Great taste and great concept! Also, I bought some other delicacies such as Mastiha spirit and some other food products to give as presents.
All in all, it is a great location, helpful and kind staff, a great selection of products. While having a stroll in Plaka, be sure to go by there and visit the shop!

The products are ok but not great and this place is in the middle of a street filled with places just like it. why did it get such high rating??
To be clear - this is NOT an attraction, it's an oil/alcohol/souvenirs shop. You can taste some of the oil before you buy it, but that's it!
Dont make the mistake I made, going there thinking that's the #33 activities in Athens. it a shop like many others around Athens...

We visited this shop, recommended by the cruise ship we were traveling on (Splendour of the Seas). The owner provided samples and recommendations on the products they have (olive oils, olives, ouzo, etc). He gave us very personalized service and we were very pleased with our purchases.

Small shop. They had all the Greek essentials. Olive oil, wine, ouzo, snacks and treats. Owner was very willing to give out samples of olive oil, snacks, liquor etc.

Looking for a great, fairly priced place to find Greek food items and souvenirs? Look no further than Taste of Greece! This store has QUALITY items, excellent and friendly service. Yiannis helped us figure out what kind of honey and olive oil to bring home to family and friends. I LOVED his store- he was very well spoken and even though our Greek was pretty basic, he was nothing but kind and friendly. Also, he never pushed us to buy anything, either. Quality stuff from a quality person. Go to Taste of Greece, you'll be glad you did :)

Popped in to grab a bottle of wine and was pleasantly impressed with the help and recommendation. Great service that allowed us to quickly walk out with the perfect bottle to enjoy on our hotel balcony as a wonderful Athens farewell.

This place is THE place to get all of your souvenirs. We saw the reviews on trip advisor and decided we would check it out since we had some extra time to shop and didn't want to be hassled by the inauthentic souvenir shops.
The owner greeted us but never hassled. He would make comments based on what we were looking at and he helped us find the best product. He offered us samples and we even had a mini Olive oil tasting which was very interesting. After we made our purchases we remembered the next day that we had one more thing to get. He remembered us and joked "see you tomorrow" as we left. This is where you need to go for authentic Greek supplies at a fair price.

Yiannis helped us to choose olive oil, sweets, olives, and ouzo as souvenirs and for gifts for family members. His recommendations lead us to products that we would have never discovered on our own. We had a large number of items shipped to our home and they arrived in a timely manner and in good condition. We will likely order from him again because we were so pleased with the products.

Hi there.. We are currently in Athens but we are struggling to find exactly where your shop is. What stores are close to you that we should look out for?
Thanks and regards
