A delightful hands-on cooking lesson and dinner; be initiated by the Chef into Greek cooking secrets with easy instructions and plenty of “hands on” preparation and cooking. But the best of all is the sumptuous dinner that you will have with the rest of your “classmates” at the end of the lesson.

I highly recommend this activity whilst in Athens. I had the most amazing time, learnt so much about Greek cuisine, the history and influences. Our hostess Fofi was superb and the tavern staff were amazing! We made an incredible five course meal and enjoyed every bite of it! I already attempted two of the dishes at home and can't wait... This was a lot of fun! It was just two of us and Fofi, our instructor was really really nice. We found out a lot about Greek cuisine and history. She's very knowledgeable and helpful. Even without experience we ended up with some great food. That we got to enjoy afterwards. Highly recommended.

I loved the class and our host Fofi. She was so positive, funny and full of fun facts. She gave us lots of tips and shared the secrets of traditional Greek cooking. The class was hands on and it felt special to be a part of something that is celebrated in Greece. Fofi was simply lovely. Also a big thank... More

Fofi Olympidou (teacher) was excellent. This was a memorable class and gave us a great understanding of Greek Cuisine, and was one of the highlights of our trip and would highly recommend her as a teacher

Our daughter, my husband and I had a great experience learning to cook Mediterranean food with Eva. She was so patient, kind and knowledgable. She demonstrated step by step what we needed to do to cook the various foods and then she let us actually do the dicing, rolling dough, and mixing the ingredients together, etc. She also gave us... Fofi was an amazing instructor. And our server who would come into help bring us more ingredients or take food to the kitchen was so friendly and entertaining, he had everyone smiling. You learn simple greek dishes, 3 appetizers, salad, main dish of lamb, and desert. You get a great education of Greece and the types of food. Then you... More

We had an excellent time cooking with Fofi! We loved the restaurant chosen as the venue, and had very friendly wait staff. Fofi is extremely knowledgeable and gave us lots of tips and tricks that we will definitely use when we cook at home. She was a very dynamic teacher, and her sense of humor made the class all the... After being dropped at the wrong end of the street and having to walk and. Ask directions 5 times we finally arrived 10 minutes late after a 35 minute hike. Not a good start. But things only got better from there and our group of 6 were soon settled in the very comfortable and we'll set up room for our... More

Eva hosted the event - super warm person with a gentle approach to the evening with an open invitation to offer other recipes once you arrive home. The idea behind this event is to identify and unlock the mystery behind the typical Greek feast for those who love Greek food - the recipes that are used are typical for Greek... More

Dear Shawn and Chris, thank you for this wonderful review! Eva is in love with cooking and for sure she will send you the recipes you have asked for. Greek cuisine, based on fresh ingredients and herbs is really very delicious, not complicated and worthwhile to attempt to cook some dishes. We hope that we will have again in the... More

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighborhood Profile
Monastiraki
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
