My husband and I took the full day corinth, epidaurus, napfplion, and mycenae tour. Our driver, Anthony was prompt in arriving to pick us up from our hotel. He was very friendly, fluent in English, and very accommodating. The van that we rode in for the day was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. We had adequate time to see each of the sites without feeling rushed. Since Tony is a driver and not a tour guide, he could not accompany us inside of the sites, but we were pleased that he played informative videos on the van monitor in route to each site. Tony even took us to a family-run souvenir shop, per our request, where we purchased numerous unique gifts. We highly recommend Splendid Greece tours. Request Tony as your driver!

On August 30, 2012 we took a half-day tour to the wine region near Nemea with Splendid Greece tours. It was all arranged through the internet (California to Greece) and we had to make two major changes to our reservation which were handled quickly and courteously. Our driver, John, arrived at our Athens hotel exactly when he was supposed to in an air-conditioned Mercedes sedan and we traveled out of the city over the Corinth Canal to the lovely area of Nemea in the Pelopennese. He stopped at the Canal for pictures and then took us through Ancient Corinth, pointing out the fortification on the hill above. Then on to the Palovos Estate for a tour of the vineyards and winery. They were harvesting and crushing grapes as well as bottling wine and we were shown all of the operation by the winemaker herself who spoke perfect English. Then we tasted their award-winning wines. The winery is small and rustic - not a factory operation but rather a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Our driver/guide John had provided historic commentary during the trip which was interesting and added a great deal to the journey. His English is impeccable and he is very knowledgable regarding Ancient and Modern Greece. On the way back to Athens, he stopped to show us Ancient Nemea and even though the site was closed for the day, we enjoyed what we could see and the surroundings.

We would unconditionally recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a different perspective of Greece and who has an interest in Greek wines and wine making. Overall it was an experience well-worth the time and cost.

This was an excellent private 6-hour tour of the major sights in Athens. Our tour guide, Helen Maina, and driver Spanos arrived right on time to pick us up at our hotel. We visited all the sights we were most interested in seeing - at our own pace. Helen, an archeologist, was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and patient with our questions. In addition to the Acropolis visit, we especially enjoyed the Acropolis Museum and seeing the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Climbing to the top of the Acropolis involves many, many steps - comfortable shoes a must! Our driver was very friendly and helpful and was right there when we were ready to go on to the next site.

My wife and I booked the 6 hour Athens tour when visiting on a cruise. Due to the time constraints, we wanted to make the most of our time while we were there. We arrived about 15 minute early and Petros was there waiting for us. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and took us straight to Acropolis, before it started getting too busy. He walked us to the entrance and was there waiting for us when we were done. He then took us all around Athens, stopping at many of the highlights including the ancient agora, Roman agora, Plaka, Mars Hill, Lycabettus hill, Greek Parliament, Acropolis Museum, Hadrians Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and many others. His knowledge of the area and experience was tremendous and helped us to see as much as possible during our time there. He dropped us back off at the port with plenty of time to spare. We had a wonderful time and would not have been able to see nearly as much of Athens if we had done it on our own or had booked a shore excursion. If your time in Greece is limited, this is definitely the way to go.

We visited Athens and came by ship. The Athens day tour was great. On time, professional, knowledgeable and went to all the main attractions. Our guide took us to a great family restaurant for lunch and it was phenomenal! Overall great value and over 8 hours of tour time! Recommend for cruise ship guests! My teenager loved it.

We had taken a customized tour of Nemea winnery, Corinth canal and ancient Corinth. Corinth canal and ancient Corinth were very nice but the wine tour was just disappointing. We just got to taste the wine and see the vineyards. Apparently the season was three months away so they had no process going on . We were expecting to see the whole process of crushing and bottling so it was like just going all the way just to taste good wine. Splendid tours could have informed us about the off season. Anyways the tour guide Notis was really sweet, he showed us around ancient Corinth and even took us to a really good tavern for lunch.

I booked the half-day tour to Corinth to follow Saint Paul's steps the night before. Since the beginning the service was excellent, fast and efficient. The driver and guide tour, Kostas, picked me up 8:30 sharp to take me from the hotel in Athens, to Corinth. The tour was AMAZING.

Kostas gave me a detailed and very interesting explanation about St. Paul's mission in Greece, and also provided me with historical facts of St. Paul and Greece. The journey was very confortable, the vehicle was spacious and clean.

The route to Corinth is beautiful, you can have a great view of the coast and see the incredible turquoise Aegean Sea -even in winter, with a perfect clear sky.

Our first stop was in Acrocorinth -the Acropolis of Corinth: a fortified citadel of ancient and medievel Corinth. This place is a MUST. During winter the entrance is free of charge, and is not crowded at all. Actually I had the whole place for myself. Once in Acrocorinth, Kostas waited for me in the parkway and with no pressure of time, I entered the fortress. I felt like in a movie, this place is magical and has a exceptional view of Greece: green mountains, blue sky, turquoise ocean and very far away snowy mountains. Since Acrocorinth is a high peak, is very windy, so make sure to bring a coat and a scarf! After an hour at this amazing place, I came down to continue my journey to Ancient Corinth.

Ancient Corinth is an arqueological site with the ruins of what old Corinth used to be. If you have a student ID, the entrance will be free of charge. This is a must-see if you are interest in history and/or in St. Paul's mission, is a jewel. Full of majestic ruins, including the imposing archaich Temple of Apollo. This site inspired me calmness and spirituality. You can clearly see the platform where St. Paul preached and where he was subject of trial. Very exciting! After Ancient Corinth, we made a stop in the Corith canal, to appreciate this impressive canal. At the end of the tour, I was returned safely to my hotel, and very very pleased. There is no place like Corinth. Is just the most incredible place I've been at, specially Acroacropolis: don't miss it!

I recommend this tour 100%. Kostas was extremely friendly, professional, courteous and attentive. Since I was by myself, he even offered to take me pictures with my camera and I had zero pressure for timing. He was very fun and knowleageble. He taught me about greek history and mythology as well and was very open to answer any question I have.

So, if you are travelling alone, or with friends/family and if you are interest in history, in St. Paul, and/or nature, this is an excellent choice! and make sure Kostas takes you, he is great!!

From the booking process to the day itself, this could not have been a more enjoyable day out. I initially booked a car to take me around Athens and 'see the sights' as I'd been to Athens before on a boat organised coach tour and really didn't get the feel of the city at all - it was far too rushed and 'cattle' like.
This private tour was the complete opposite - I couldn't have felt that the tour was more individualised at all. I'd met two elderly ladies on the boat who were interested in 'tagging along' and on arrival, the chaufeur apologised (yes apologised) that as no cars were available, would we mind a mini-bus. This was just one example of our drivers impeccable English and good manners. We were taken to all the expected sights in Athens and even to a few that the driver knew about - as he lived there himself. He timed the changing of the guard perfectly. The trip had been paid for many months ago, but it was a delight for the three of us to demonstrate our thanks with a few extra pounds / dollars whatever.
Book it. It's a great day out.
