We went on this 3 Island Cruise approximately 3 weeks ago from Athens, to Hydra, Poros and Aegina as a family of 6. We were very disappointed with this Cruise. It was too long and it became boring. We were picked up from our Hotel at 7.30 a.m. and the Cruise returned at 7.30 p.m. at night. Hydra was very nice, Poros was okay, nothing special, but then we had to spend nearly 2 hours in Aegina. Okay if you did a Tour I guess, but we have been here before and this time did not do a Tour. There were no tourist shops where the boat pulled in, just restaurants which we did not need. Really nothing to do or see. The Cruise was advertised with 'entertainment', but we found there was no entertainment. There was a Dj playing music on the lower level of the ship on the trip back from Aegina to Athens, but we expected Greek dancing and music (as was the case last time we did this Cruise). Lunch was very nice, but you have to pay for the drinks on this long Tour. We thought perhaps a snack should have been included on the long boat trip back to Athens, or after the second Island at least. Long time with nothing. We were not going to keep on buying expensive drinks (coffees, soft drinks etc). We do not recommend this Tour at all anymore. It is not what it was. Very disappointed.

The three island tour to Hydra, Poros and Egina

If you are mobility challenged or have small children you may find this a challenge, especially at the end.

We took the tour on May 16th, 2015 and had pre-paid the 99 euros and though I thought it might be a bit pricey – oh well, you’re on vacation. Besides, how else are you going to get the experience?
Yes, our bus was late picking us up at our hotel but we were at the last stop so . . . but it did drop us off near the boat dock.
The ferry is somewhat dated and crowded but the boat is used at lot so I’ll give them some leeway on that. Food snacks and even water comes at a price…..we tend to travel with our own water bottles so that wasn’t too much of an issue and we had eaten breakfast at our hotel (included)

The operators really push the 2 optional bus tours on the last island of Egina, telling us ‘not much to see around the waterfront’ – don’t fall for this – there is plenty to look at! More on this later.

DO NOT TAKE THE BUS TOURS ! ! ! !

The first stop at Hydra was QUICK. Very scenic. Not even an hour if I recollect properly. My friend and I can move pretty quickly so we covered a lot of ground around the harbour front, snapping pictures like crazy and purchase a beer or two to take on board because you don’t want to pay their on-board hostage prices.
We were part of the first sitting for lunch at that was ok, no complaints about the food and considering the numbers they need to feed it came off pretty well.
Poros – again quaint, scenic waterfront and we had more time to explore – was our favorite of the 3 islands. Donkey , horse rides if you’d like but both sides of the harbour and into the back streets is recommended if you like to walk and take photos.

Egina – we paid 20 euros a piece to ride this bus tour and it was full – about 50 people – that’s a 1000 euros per ride that the operator earns - easy money for them!. It made a couple quick stops around the island on the way to the church, we weren’t allowed to get off a take photos. The church interior was under renovations with scaffolding filling much of the interior so that was a disappointment and we only got about 15- 20 minutes tops to take pics. Then they stopped at a ‘restaurant’ behind the fish market near the ferry – that was tragic! Walking thru the stalls it smelled like a backed up sewer and with with flies all over. They seated us, gave us each an airliner sized bottle of Ouzo – which had been previously used and refilled! Seals were broken and some labels showed ‘wear’ - I am not kidding! Plus, it was pretty low grade stuff. And the ‘seafood platter’ was enough to make me gag – the bristles still on, the stuff that resembled earth worms and that smell - yech! We ate the cukes and tomatoes & I gulped the Ouzo and we got out of there – Pronto! The host ran after us, 'Is every thing fine?' 'Oh yeah, we just want to sight-see some more!' Lie - I had to find a beer to re-install my taste buds!! We ran into another table mate later on the cruise and said it "was disappointing" - they were being kind.
Stay at the harbour front, use your money and buy something from the stands, a gellato, pistachio nuts, a drink (at a local store 1.5 Litre of wine for 3.5 euros!) explore the back streets - you won't be disappointed.

Going back to the mainland you get a great view of Athens from the forward deck – bring a good windbreaker, a fleece won’t cut it.

Though the buses dropped us off at the dock when you depart you have to walk a few hundred metres ( 0.5km?) to get them, there were some old folks struggling, they didn't provide a shuttle or wheel chairs.

In conclusion – take the boat tour if you desire – if you can get it cheaper so much the better. Or just take a day ferry to Hydra if possible.

I don't usually write reviews on excursions or tours but feel compelled to on this occasion. From the minute myself and my wife booked a trip to Athens, this was an excursion we wanted to do. We both love Greece and have had holidays on many different Greek Islands but have never had the opportunity to visit the islands in the Saronic Gulf. The chance to visit 3 islands in one day appealed to us greatly and so we booked it without hesitation a few months in advance for a good price of 79 euros per person including transfers from our hotel to the port. Then I started to read some reviews on here and was concerned that at the time they were mostly negative. The tour was pay on the day so having not parted with any cash, we were considering cancelling the tour and arranging our own excursions but the logistics of this didn't work out too well so we decided to go ahead with the excursion as planned.

I am so glad we ignored the negative comments and this is the main reason for writing this review. We had a very enjoyable day and whilst some improvements could be made, the excursion is definitely worth doing. We were picked up from our hotel on time at 7.25 am, a big achievement if you've ever witnessed Athens traffic! The journey to the port was swift and painless, arriving 20 minutes later and soon after the boat set sail. Our 1st stop was Hydra which was 3 hours away and whilst this is the longest leg of the tour, the time passed quite quickly with information provided on the itinerary and chance to relax on the sun deck. We had 1 hour 15 minutes in Hydra, then onto Poros where we had 50 minutes. After this lunch was provided and then to our final stop Aegina where we had 1 hour 45 minutes and went on the panoramic tour which cost an additional 20 euros. After leaving Aegina, entertainment was provided for the trip back to Athens.

Please be advised that this is a long day, 12 hours plus depending on the time of pick up in Athens but this is made clear at the time of booking. There is also a lot of time spent at sea. We had sunny, clear weather on the day of our tour so this was not a problem as we could sunbathe on deck and admire the views but if the weather isn't so good, I can understand why there may be some negativity regarding the sailing times between islands. For us, the allocated time on each island was about right, 50 minutes on Poros could perhaps be extended to an hour so it's not as rushed.

We had a very enjoyable day overall and this is your only opportunity to visit 3 islands in one day. I'd say it is worth doing providing you are aware that it will be a long day and there is quite a bit of time spent on the boat. The tour could be improved by providing more information on each of the islands via commentary through the boats speakers. The food could also be improved, the quality was good but we would have preferred it if there were more Greek choices on offer rather than simply pizza, pasta and chicken.

The negatives regarding this tour are quite harsh and whilst I agree that there's only a limited amount of time spent in each place, this is the best opportunity to visit 3 different and unique islands. The staff are friendly, everything ran efficiently and the facilities on the boat are very good. The prices for drinks/snacks aren't that expensive either. If you want to get out of the city and see some beautiful islands for the day, I'd say go for it!

My girlfriend and I have attended the tour "One Day Cruise from Athens to 3 Islands Aegina – Poros – Hydra" of "Athens Day Cruise" on the vessel "Anna Maru" with the crew of "Hydraiki" in October, 2021.

The weather was sunny and there were 25 °C.

The driver of the hotel transfer was punctual. The crew was kind and the waiters were attentive for orders. The toilets had been cleaned several times on the trip. There were approximately 100 people on the boat.

After the departure of the boat the crew offered tour options on the islands in a combined package which had a lower price than these ones on the website of Athens Day Cruise. So, to book the extra tours online is a worse option. However, there haven't been any security hints in case for emergency e.g. how to react in a case of an evacuation of the boat.

On the website of Athens Day Cruise there was the the promise of a traditional Greek folklore show which never happend on the trip. The crew said there have been a law of the government which prohibits any music or dance because of the SARS-CoV-2-situation for already one year. It would be nice if there were any information about that in the booking process instead of the false offer of this show.
However, the were no information about the available time on every island in the booking process. A bad experience was the short time of 45 min on the island Poros. It was not possible to explore the island in this time. It would be better to skip one island to enhance the time for exploration.

We attended a 50 min panorama bus tour on Aegina with a competent guide and a wonderful view on the landscape. The surprise of a little food buffet to taste some local food was kind. Unfortunately, they promised a panorama bus but there was only a "normal" travel bus. An information or the correct offer for this extra trip would have been nice.

The buffet for lunch had a bad quality and was not actually Greek. The fish was raw and not eatable. The extra food in the menu was too expensive e.g. a usual burger menu costed €22. A better way would be to exclude the buffet out of the price and offer affordable food in the menu.

The conclusion for us is to recommend our friends to go for their own to some islands with a usual ferry instead of booking this tour for €100 excluded the island trips.

This boat would NEVER be allowed to leave the harbour in Canada. The shot I took was while people are still in line to board. There were NOT enough seats for people to sit, and therefore trying to see over the rails in and out were impossible.
I would not have gotten on, but we had already paid. Safety was not their concern and there surely were not enough life jackets for the people on the boat. We did however, enough the sights of the island and the company of the peope we were with.

The pictured vessel is M/V Cosmos. Our vessel, ANNA MAROU, is fully compliant with safety rules. The Hydraiki safety management procedures are certified by the Hellenic Maritime Authorities which comply fully with the requirements of the international ISM (International Shipping Management) code. We never risk the safety of our passengers, thus we would never host more people than our cruise ship can afford. Safety is the most important aspect for us, and we follow all the laws and regulations in order to provide a safe travel to all of our passengers. We regret to hear you did not enjoy the cruise and we wish your experience was more pleasant. At your disposal for any issue that may occur, Hydraiki

A little over 12 hours on the boat and got less then 4 hours on the islands... one stop was 45 min. so much time on a boat in hard plastic chairs. Staff wasn't the nicest either. got scolded because we tried to get comfortable and put our feet up. Lunch was basic and no water. We LOVED the 1st stop of Hydra..very cool.

This tour goes to Hydra, Poros and Aegina. It seemed like a great deal, three islands for 98 euro/person, 'wait, we will give you a deal for 75 euro/person!' Boy, was I wrong. First of all, they were late picking us up at 7:15 am. May seem like no big deal, but when I have to wake up early on vacation for a tour and they are super late... I resent missing out on sleep. :) We get to the boat and it is pretty run down and crammed full of folks. This matters because you spend most of the day on the boat ferrying between islands and it can be tough to find a seat. We don't get off at the first island, Hydra, until almost noon. Up until that point, they have served no food, no drinks, not even water. You have to pay extra for all that and (as is usually the case with a hostage audience on a boat) it's all expensive and not very appealing. As we are getting off at Hydra, they tell us that our group doesn't get lunch until after the second island. Since we've already been with this tour four five hours with nothing, we go to a place in Hydra and have (excellent) lunch. But, since we are only on the island for little more than an hour, that is all we can do there. Too bad, looked like an interesting place. Back on the boat to Poros. Bad news, only 30 minutes on Poros. We grab gelato, never get out of eyesight of the boat and we're back on. By this time, it's 2:45-3:00 and they finally feed us lunch. We were pretty full from Hydra, but thought we'd grab some salad or fruit and were surprised to find neither in the buffet. An attendant approached our table and asked what we wanted to drink and I was a little surprised when he charged us 7.50 euro for three cans of soda. Apparently, the price of lunch did not include drinks of any kind. We get to Aegina, our last stop, and actually had two hours on this island. There's a beach nearby, but it was off season and closed. We got in the water anyway. I wish we had spent less time there and more on Hydra or Poros which both seemed more interesting. And back to Athens around 7:30pm. I highly suggest you just take a ferry or water taxi to Hydra or Poros and spend the day there without doing a tour like this. Unless, you can find a better one than this. Overpriced, shabby, greedy on basics like... water, just lame, lame, lame. Very unhappy with this. But, the islands were gorgeous! Just find a better way to get there!

This was so awful, that I am still in Greece, and had to write the review. DO NOT SPEND THE 100 EUROS PER PERSON FOR THIS AWFUL TRIP.
If you enjoy being trapped on a ferry for hours, this trip is for you. It is sold as a trip to see islands off the coast of Greece. That is what you do.
3 hours to the first island, Hydra. Hydra is an island filled with donkeys, stray cats, and tourist trap shops. There are no cars on Hydra, and there is no beach. There is a cement swimming platform, but it is a 10-15 minute walk from the dock. As you only have an hour and 15 minutes on the island, it leaves little time for swimming once you walk there.
The second island on the cruise is Poros. This is reached after another 40 minutes on the ferry. This island is again a tourist trap of souvenier shops. Here we were given 45 minutes to wander around the junk shops.
The third island is another hour and twenty minute ferry ride away. This island has something to offer, a cathedral and some ruins. Unfortunately they ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE 100 EURO PRICE TAG OF THE TRIP.
You do not find out that you have additional charges for the sights until the ferry has left the port and begun the 3 hour journey to the first stop. To actually get out of a vehicle to see the ruins and cathedral, the price is 25 euros per person. If you want to sit on a bus and take photos out of the window, it is 20 euros per person.
This is a 12 hour trip that consists of approximately 8 hours of time on the ferry. The island tours are nothing but souvenir and gift shops. There is no time to do any significant exploring on any of the islands except the one where they charge you extra.
My question is, aside from lunch, where the cost of water or a soft drink WAS EXTRA, what did my 100 euros cover?
We ditched this mess in Aegina and took the ferry back to the port near Athens . From there it was a 10 minute cab ride back to our hotel for an additional 16 euros for both.
Save your money. If you want to see Aegina, take the ferry, and then a taxi to the ruins. It is WAY cheaper!
AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS!!!
I would give this no stars, but TripAdvisor makes you give at least one.
A colossal waste of a beautiful day in Athens. I wish there was some way to recoup my monetary loss. The only recourse is to steer travelers away from this abomination.

Dear Madam At first we thank you for the time it took you to write this review.Any comment no matter how good or bad it is,is a base for steady improvement for the services we provide to our passengers. We would like to inform you that the time schedule is set by the local port authorities so it is not our fault if it is a bit tight. We can assure you that for the quality of the service we provide the price is quite reasonable and surely not too much. You visit three beautiful and picturesque islands with lunch included, transport from and to the hotel and a series of events and happenings on board. If you read other comments from TA reviewers you will see that they are more than satisfied,if not fascinated. However, not everyone is fond of the same things and opinions as long as tastes vary.We thank you for choosing our company in order to visit our islands and we would like you to reconsider and see you again in our of our future cruises.

Our concierge set us up on this cruise telling us we would have hours on each island to eat relax and explore . lol . We had an hour barely on the island and 8 hours on the boat . I had no desire to spend my day on a boat that you had to pay for everything fight for seats and the free lunch was disgusting ! Going to the islands was fabulous but with such a short time on each and having to rush back to the boat to even get seats for myself and my family it made me more frustrating than anything . Do yourself a favor book the ferries and take your one . This wastes time it’s 1000 degrees though it says air conditioned and you will be overjoyed when you get off the boat ! Wish we didn’t bother doing it but once you get on ... ya . I promise you will regret it !

This is the worst excursion I have ever been on. We paid a lot for this one day cruise and not only did it not include anything, like a drop of water or any information on any of the islands we were visiting, but we felt like we were constantly being scammed. There were a lot of interruptions on the intercom that were extremely loud and disturbing, many of them asking you to spend money on various things, like the jewelry shop, upgrade to VIP status, etc. You essentially spend most of the trip on the boat and it is not very nice and not much to do but drink, for a price.

On the way to the first island Hydra, you are asked to come to a very important meeting. We were told that the first two islands are nice, but that we would be arriving at siesta time at the last, Aeigina, and all shops would be closed and nothing to do so they recommended one of 3 excursions. There were 2 bus excursions costing 27 and 25 euros and a swim excursion at 25 euros. The swimming would be at a beautiful private sandy beach and included was a drink, transportation, beach umbrella and chairs. We opted for the beach excursion as sounded awesome and we had been just sitting on a boat for hours so did not want to sit on a bus.

Hydra was beautiful but we had no information on this island so unsure what to do here. We walked around and it was pretty but very touristy with lots of tinker shops and restaurants. We did not want to sit in restaurant as sitting on a boat all day, and we are not interested in trinket so we were a little bored. We were herded back on the boat and had lunch, We waited on line a long time for food and lots of yelling by staff in effort to organize us. Was tight fit so we had to share a table which we did not mind. Food was ok but again, not even water was provided and you had to pay for all drinks. It was also extremely hot and we were all packed in like sardines and dripping with sweat.

Poros was cute but seemed like as soon as we got off we were herded back on the boat. Just as well as only a few shops and restaurants here and not much else.

We were very excited for the last stop and were taken by boat to the beach. There was no sandy "beach" but just dusty rocks, most umbrellas were broken and chairs were dirty. A big dissapointment and not worth more than 5 euros. Only good thing was that water was clean and refreshing.

End of this cruise could not come fast enought for us. We were herded back on bus to our hotel. Please do not waste your time as there are so many better things to do in Athens for an entire day. Got back to hotel at 8:30pm hot, dirty, hungry, and broke.
