We had an amazing sailing adventure with Bearing True South! Stavros, Happy, and Joy took excellent care of us. Due to high winds and big waves, we were not able to do the planned trip to the Cyclades. However, Happy (skipper) and Joy (guide) changed our itinerary and we enjoyed alternate islands and ports on the mainland. Happy found wind protected coves for us to enjoy the Mediterranean. Joy ordered all of dinners for us so that we could maximize the number of Greek dishes we could enjoy family style. Greece is a beautiful country filled with the nicest people. We look forward to sailing again with Bearing True South!

We had the most wonderful vacation in Greece. Our captain Happy and first mate Joy made the trip even better!! Highly recommend this adventure.

Our trip was absolutely amazing. Our guide(s) tailored the trip to our preferences as we went along and really became a part of our group! The combination of outdoor activities, tours, and education was well balanced alongside seeing areas of Greece I would have never known to go to without them. Logistics were an absolute dream and everything ran on schedule seamlessly. October was a great month to go, when tourist season was winding down - but the weather was still perfect.

Most epic trip ever! We were lucky enough to sail the Cyclades from 10/8/22 - 10/15/22 on the Ellora. There were 3 couples along with Happy our skipper and Joy our tour guide. Each couple had their own cabin with private bathroom - which was great! It was a fantastic trip, every day carefully planned out by Happy and Joy. Each day was a new island destination. Beautiful architecture, swimming and paddle boarding in the turquoise blue sea, fantastic food and amazing sunsets all orchestrated by Joy. Joy was an expert at planning out what to do, and where to go. We had beautiful hikes to hill tops and she knew the perfect restaurants to head to after where we would try the best local foods and sample the ouzo, and tsipouro. Happy was truly an expert skipper and we all felt extremely safe every moment on the boat, and during our sailing across the Aegean. The only negative was when we had to leave... We didn't want the trip to end. I would most definitely book this same trip again! I'm certain that the next trip would be just as amazing!

We did an eight day tour of the Cyclades with Bearing True South. We had an amazing trip. Our captain Happy and our tour guide Artemis were fantastic. We felt totally safe and well looked after. Artemis showed us some amazing sites and fantastic local traditional Greek restaurants. Happy, our captain, had crew meetings with us every day to discuss our plans for the next day and ensure we were all on board for the next day’s plans. We had some wild weather but they kept us in the loop with what they thought would be the best places to stay for the night. It was an unforgettable trip that we would love to do again. We would highly recommend this company for an amazing sailing adventure!!

We had an incredible time exploring Greece with Bearing True South. This was truly a hands-off operation, where all you have to do is show up and have a good time. Their communication throughout the entire process was excellent and prompt. Every staff member we interacted with was very friendly and always strived to exceed expectations. We will definitely use this company again when we return to Greece. I wish other tourism companies operated at their level. The price was slightly higher than some of the other options but it was 100% worth it.
Our initial plan was to explore the Cyclades but bad weather was likely to make the trip unenjoyable. The crew (Panos & Happy) recognized the problem a few days in advance and suggested we visit the Saronic and Argolic Gulfs instead. We are very glad they were knowledgeable with alternatives and comfortable adjusting the route to provide us a full week of good conditions. Happy, our skipper, was a true professional. He was willing to teach us about the boat and would explain sailing concepts through out the course of our trip.
The crew was very good at communicating our options and tailored the trip according to our interests. Not once did we feel like we were led into a tourist trap at any of the restaurants or shops where they took us. We're still dreaming about every wonderful meal! We avoided crowded places for the most part and got to see many places that most tourists probably don't get to see. We appreciated their willingness to teach us about their culture and their patience answering our endless questions.
Our sailing party was a total of 6 people (3 couples) and we were unsure about which boat to get. We ended up deciding on the Hanse 508 mainly because each couple would have their own bathroom. This was the BEST decision we made the entire trip. The boat was very comfortable for our group.
After our sailing trip we took a 3 day trip to Meteora and Delfi (also through Bearing True South) and that was as well organized as the sailing. The views were amazing and our driver (Dimitri) was extremely professional and very punctual. The hotels and restaurants along the way were very nice and always exceeded our expectations.

My friends and I had an incredible sailing experience with Bearing True South this summer.
I cannot thank them enough; they were truly professional and planned a bespoke itinerary just for us, as we love exploring places that are untouched by the hordes of tourists.
Everyone in the crew was friendly, flexible and made our experience unforgettable. I will definitely book another sailing experience with them next time I visit Greece!

I returned from my sailing trip a few days ago and still can't get the wonderful images, the hospitality and graciousness of the crew and overall unbelievable experience out of my head.
This is a company that knows the places that are visited like the back of their hand, from the best diving spots, calmest and most idyllic bays that you've always dreamed about seeing up close, and best and most importantly unique and gastronomically adventurous restaurants where you are welcomed like old friends where one meal was more memorable than the next throughout the entirety of the trip.
The team's in-depth knowledge about the places that are visited, in terms of culture and history was quite literally astounding, ultimately reflecting their genuine love and infectious excitement about the Greek islands, an excitement which can't help but rub off on guests.
As this was my first sailing trip, I felt slightly uneasy, a feeling that almost immediately subsided after talking to the skipper and him explaining exactly what to expect from the weather and that there was absolutely nothing to fear. The ease with which he manouvred the boat and obvious experience relayed my fears to the extent that I have vowed to return next year.
Ultimately, what True South offer is a perfectly curated vacation whereby guests are ensured of only experiencing the very best that this beautiful part of the world has to offer. Suffice it to say there was never a dull moment, just a feeling of awe throughout the entire trip.
Having had a once in a lifetime trip in 2022, I will definitely be returning to join True South next year to uncover another stunning part of the country.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for going above and beyond in creating such an incredible and unforgettable experience. Can't wait to join you again next year.

Our experience in August 2022 with Bearing True South and the duo of Captain Happy and the irreplaceable Joy went above and beyond our expectations. As someone who likes to plan and research a trip for months, it felt different, but in a good way to leave everything in their hands. They did not disappoint. We were able to experience the food, culture, and history without sitting in lines of tourists. The islands and ports we visited felt like the "real" Greece and we truly appreciated being immersed in the places Happy and Joy like to go to, especially the restaurants. We asked Joy at the beginning to please order for us at dinners and every plate was an authentic taste of Greece. We were also able to experience a variety of activities for multiple interests each day, whether it was sailing, hiking, shopping, historical sites, or eating/drinking. I would recommend Bearing True South to anyone that wants to experience Greece outside of Athens. We are already planning on returning in a few years and exploring more of the thousands of islands Greece has to offer. Thank you Happy, Joy, Stavros, and BTS for the experience of a lifetime.

Hands down the best way to experience Greek culture. Sailing the Greek islands was a bucket list trip for us and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Joy, and Skipper, Happy, were phenomenal hosts. They curated the perfect trip for our group of friends, they listened to all the details we gave them prior to our arrival and then planned it around our groups interests. The best advice I can give to future guests is to completely put your trust in the company and your guides and they will not let you down!
