Amazing history and scenery. Our guide was an archaeologist who was very passionate about the site. The lunch was excellent and a great way to talk to travelers from other parts of the world.

We enjoyed 4 hours walking from the Parliament Building, (including watching the changing of the guard) through the Botanical Gardens, the Temple of Zeus and on to the Acropolis. Vicki our guide was delightful to listen to and a wealth of information on her beloved city. Worth every cent! Thank you

We loved this tour and I would highly recommend it. Effi the tour guide was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us a lot about the history, culture and significance of each site. She's also an archaeologist, so that definitely was a plus for us having ger as the tour guide. We had two different drivers... More

We had a terrific tour with this company. The manger was very professional. She delt with our misunderstanding amicably. The tour guide, Mr. Stathis Tsantekides, was very knowlagable. He knew history, art & archeology. He was also very helpful & understanding. He did not ask for tips & looked as he didn't even expect it. A real pro.!!

Booked two tours with CHAT Tours. Morning tour went to Corinth. Afternoon tour went to Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounio. Enjoyed both tours. Corinth reminded us of Ephesus. Both of course haves to the Christian religion and the Apostle Paul. Drive to Temple of Poseidon was fabulous. Negative factor are tour buses. First of we are crammed into a... More

My husband, daughter and I booked a tour of the Acropolis through our hotel. We are so happy that we did. There is no way we could have gotten the experience we had had we done it our selves. Our guide Joy was amazing. She went out of her way to inform us on the history of this beautiful area.... More

We took the Mycenae and Epidaurus day tour from Athens. The confirmation was handled by email and all went well. We were met a few minutes later than our scheduled time due to traffic - no problem there. We were taken to another hotel to change coaches and meet up with the rest of the people on our tour -... We used Chatours to visit Delphi and Meteora. Great guide and a very well organised trip. Meteora was spectacular and like nothing I have ever seen - spectacular . Am so glad we did this. The hotel where we stayed in Kalambaka was also very decent. The only downside was the AC not working for one leg of the bus... More

In hindsight, I can only blame myself for booking a "tour". This was a slap in the face reminder of why I PERSONALLY do not like tours. If a large group herding from listening to uninspiring guides talking too much to a muggy full bus is your thing then sure. We did not have enough time to actually explore and... More

Did two half day tours with them (Anicient Corinth and Cape Sounion). I booked this tour trough Viator. The E-mail for confirming the included pick-up from the hotel was answered within 24 hours and worked out well. The first tour Ancient Corinth was on a small bus. The seats where really feel cramped. Ryanair seats are like first class seats... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
