Our driver Steve picked us up from the port at Athens Piraeus and took us to our hotel. He was there when we got off the ferry and very helpful. The next day he picked us up at our hotel to take us to various places in Athens. He planned the itinerary very well, dropping us off at the Acropolis when it opened, then the nearby museum, and then drove us to sights throughout the city including the changing of the guard at the presidential palace. He made a reservation for us at an authentic Greek restaurant that we enjoyed and took us to additional locations in Athens before returning us to our hotel. He was always waiting nearby for us when we were done at each site, and drove very safely and knows the city very well. His English is outstanding and we enjoyed talking with him. George’s Taxi made it very easy for us to reserve the Athens tour and port transfers, and thanks to their advice we were able to buy tickets for the Acropolis and nearby museum tours months in advance for early in the morning before the big tour buses started to arrive. Will definitely use them again on our next trip to Greece. Five stars and then some!

Major praise for George’s Taxi, and especially for our wonderful driver, Kostas, during our three days in Athens!
We booked three tours: Taste of Athens for our first morning, Day Trip to the Peloponesse (we included Epidaurus) for our second day, and a personal tour of the northern suburbs along with a half day trip to Cape Sounion on the third day. We were delighted that George’s Taxi gave us Kostas for all three trips.
We cannot overstate how much Kostas added to our visit; he is now part of our family memories and lore. Of course, he expertly navigated the streets of Athens (he knows all the shortcuts and “parking” spots) and beyond. But he also shared with us the very best of tourist tips and advice, his depth of knowledge of Greek mythology, history, and culture, and he introduced us enthusiastically to favorite restaurants and dishes. His energetic, delightful, and thoughtful manner enabled us to feel comfortable with him right away, such that our three days in the car with him were highlights of our trip.
I without reservation recommend George’s Taxi for their tours and service. And I most enthusiastically recommend Kostas as the very best driver you could have for your holiday in Greece. We certainly hope to return, and we especially hope to visit additional sites with Kostas.

We have only the highest praise for George's Taxi in Athens, and especially for our driver, Steve! The reservation process online was well-organized and easy to use, and correspondence was prompt, helpful, and friendly. We were provided with links for purchasing tickets to the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, along with clear directions for completing that process.
Steve arrived promptly at our hotel at the pre-arranged time, and provided interesting and helpful commentary during the drive. He has worked very hard to perfect his English, which made communication enjoyable. Steve is knowledgeable about Greek history and the sites on our tour, so he was able to give us advice for maximizing our time. He showed concern for our safety throughout the tour, reminding us about pickpockets and being aware of traffic as we entered and exited the car.
Steve drove us to a small restaurant where locals like to eat, so we were able to enjoy some delicious Greek food at very reasonable prices.
On a personal note, we discovered during conversation that we both enjoy cooking, so Steve gave me the URL for his favorite Greek cooking website (it has the option to translate to English, fortunately!)
If you will be visiting Athens, we highly recommend George's Taxi and our driver Steve for an unforgettable experience.

We took a full day trip to Delphi with Kostas, with an optional excursion to Hosios Loukas. We had a fantastic day. Kostas picked up up from our Hotel bang on time. The journey to Delphi was really enjoyable and picturesque. Kostas was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of the Hellas on our way there. We also stopped off for a photo opportunity at Arachova. We had a great day and saw incredible sights away from the hustle and bustle (and crowds) of Athens, and really enjoyed the restaurant Kostas picked for us in Delphi. Of all the sights we have seen, this was the most impressive - given you could almost feel the history. I highly recommend this trip, the company, and the driver. Booking was easy and painless, the company is reputable, and it helps put money in the pockets of real Greeks, rather than a faceless company. We got picked up at 7:45am. I highly recommend an early start - as we were leaving Delphi for the museum, it was starting to get REALLY busy, so beat the crowds. Thanks Kostas! A+

Amazing day doing Taste of Athens tour. Alex was so knowledgeable and professional. He was relaxed and flexible to our needs. The vehicle was so comfortable and we enjoyed the a/c after each segment of the trip. Highly recommend the 8am entrance, b/c the acropolis was a lot less crowded.

My husband and I did an amazing "Taste of Athens" tour with Steve, who was punctual, knowledgeable, and a very careful driver. Although we had light rain Steve was able to adjust the itinerary and we visited everything on the planned tour. Our pickup point was the hotel in Old Town Athens and drop of was the International Airport. Arrangements, via email, prior to the tour were effortless and Pavlos was very quick to reply and efficient. He was able to correct me on some details and make suggestions I hadn't thought of. I can highly recommend George's Taxi.

Impeccable service! above and beyond expectations. Three adults, we booked two days, one to Monastery of St Luke and Delphi, the other included Corinth canal, ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio and Epidaurus. Both fabulous. Our driver Kostas was brilliant. His English was excellent, his desire to share knowledge about the sites we were visiting was contagious. He was so well prepared and showed us maps and videos ahead of each site visit which meant we could discuss and learn before arrival, thus getting so much more out of each stop. Afterwards he would impart stories about the local history, the agriculture, the economy of the area and of the country. His driving was smooth, the car super clean. He was always on time, very polite and with a great sense of humour!. Can’t recommend highly enough. Just superb.

We went with Kostas for the sunset trip to the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion. He was nothing short of excellent. His willingness to talk historical Greece and current Greek issues was fascinating (especially for someone like me working in American Politics)
He recommended a delicious meal for dinner, where we also had a great view of the gorgeous sunset. It was a trip we will never forget and a perfect way to end our time here in Athens. Thank you George's taxi and Kostas for such a wonderful evening.

Last week, my husband and I took two day trips with George’s Taxi to Cape Sounio (for sunset at the Temple of Poseidon) and to Delphi & Thermopylae.
Our driver, Kostas, was beyond incredible. Not only did he get us everywhere safely (and on time) – he was very informative about the sites we were visiting, the places we passed on the way, and about Greece in general. We learned a lot! He was so friendly and made us feel truly welcomed in Greece…it felt like we were spending time with an old friend.
We would highly recommend George’s Taxi in general, as well as the two tours we went on. Be sure to ask for Kostas - you will love him as much as we did.

We recently spent an educational and entertaining day with Kostas providing the Acropolis, Athens City Sights, and Plaka Tour. The sights were truly memorable but at the end of the day we had learned so much about the Educational System, Health Care System, apartments built in the 1950s-60s with no parking for cars, Banking System (try to get a mortgage), one year compulsory military service, minimum wage employment, Govt assistance during Covid, the boost to the Greek Economy brought on by the 2004 Olympics, and the Greek tradition of importance of Family (think little or no homeless). Kostas expertly and efficiently wheeled us around in Mercedes Taxi. We were lucky to be touring on a Sunday and got to view the Full Pageantry of the Changing of the Guard. We had a memorable day with a new friend who is passionate about showing the sights and their History, and equally devoted to sharing what life is like in Greece. From first contact with George's Taxi all communication was handled professionally and personably by Nicholas. We received first class treatment from George's Taxi at a very reasonable cost for what was provided. We highly recommend!

We are considering the Greek mainland with our son (early twenties) at the end of March. He needs quite a lot of places of historical and Archaeological interest to keep him occupied and we aren't bothered about sunbathing.
If we base ourselves in Athens will many of the sites be too far away? We would only want to do 2-3 trips max away from Athens plus a day for Athens itself.

Hi, Based on the wonderful reviews, we are considering using George's Taxi for a 5hr sunset Cape Sounion tour. We have never taken a private taxi tour. What's % of tips is typical etiquette and if we stop for a meal, does the driver eat with us? Do we need another official guide or the drive provides all the similar background/history? The only difference would be the driver cannot accompany us inside the site?

We found that tipping 10-20% was appreciated and customary for good service while in Greece. So far as your other questions, on our Sounion tour with George’s Taxi, our driver gave us more than enough information before we went into the site so we didn’t feel any need for an additional guide. At the restaurant he helped us to make choices from the menu and helped us to order, the despite our invitation to join us for lunch he dined alone at the bar. He seemed quite surprised we’d invite him to join us, but also very concerned that we enjoy our time alone too.
