We are a distillery of 125 years. 4 generations operating the business. The distillery's main factory is in Keratea. In the centre of Athens we have opened a show room that we are introducing our story of 4 generations in making Alcoholic liqueurs and we offer testing of our products. There is a also a shop to buy our products.You can pop in any time between 10:00 -17:00 Mon-Fri & till 16:00 Sat

I learned about The Distillery Network through social media and after doing my homework and looking at other manufacturers products I am 100 percent satisfied with purchasing from these guys. The quality of the craftsmanship is top notch and far exceeded my expectations. My order was on time and when I opened the box I was very pleased with how well everything was put together. All the joints were soldered beautifully with no excess slag. Customer service was just as excellent with the few questions I had. The Distillery Network should be very proud of the professionalism they display not only through the quality craftsmanship but excellent no BS customers service.

We had a liquor tasting as part of an Athens food tour and this was the undoubted highlight. Our host was ultra friendly and informative, couldn't have been more helpful and had some much knowledge to share. I almost guarantee you'll find a flavour you like and will leave the shop having purchased something. Great fun as well.

Heavenly Liqueurs !!

We stopped here as part of a food tour.
We were told about the family run business, then were encouraged to try as many as we wanted.
They were all of an excellent quality.
We could not leave without purchasing a couple, Lemon and Rose.
Wish I could get them in the UK !!

A fabulous event

We stopped at the Polykala's Distillery on a food tour. It was a great stop. We tasted 5 different flavors and had an explanation about each. We learned the history of the distillery. They were all delicious. I ended up buying 3 flavors. They packaged them in a gift box with information. She also gave us a wonderful piece of handmade chocolate. I would highly recommend stopping at the distillery.

This place is great! The tour guide was friendly, knew so much and was willing to share the wealth of information. The tasting was great and I was able to get most of my souvenir purchases there. When we travel, I am always looking for something unique to bring back to my friends and family. Worth the time and the flavors of the liquors are wonderful!

Warm, friendly, definitely worth a visit!

Nina is the best!!! She is so knowledgeable and friendly! She let us taste many different liquors. They were all very good but my favorite was the coffee. My son’s favorite was the lemon. We bought both! I highly recommend visiting this business, where you are made to feel like family!

food tour with liqueur tasting

We stopped at Polykala for a tasting which was the highlight of our food tour. Everything we tasted was very good...surprisingly since I generally don't care for the sweet stuff. We all bought several bottles to take home.
Our delightful host mentioned a chicken recipe using the cherry liqueur but I couldn't locate it at the suggested karamanlidikagr site.
Fun event and something very different.

However I had a look at the site you mentioned but I could not find something as well. A tip I can give you: Just add about 10ml of cherry liqueur within the roast chicken sauce. Hope to see u again!!

This family owned distillery has more than just history to offer.
Family member Nina was a gracious, warm, and charming host!
We had the opportunity to taste a wide selection of liqueurs; some tasted of coffee, others hazelnut, basically something for everyone’s pallet.
Don’t miss this gem of a place, friendly with great selections at great prices!!!

Fourth Generation Distillery honoring their heritage and looking forward

1 toured a local distillery, family-owned and operated by a fourth-generation distiller, with the original site located just across the street. The business has shifted from distillation to blending, infusing, and liqueur production. I sampled their products and purchased some mini bottles. The owner kindly shared her family's history and patiently answered my questions.

Fun fact: The family name is Polykala which means ‘Very Good’ in Greek. They had an advertisement from the 1950 saying “Make sure your liquor is Very Good at VeryGood Distillery” basically. The play on words works better in the original Greek obviously.

Nina was so kind to us and let us taste so many delicious liqueurs while explaining the super interesting history of her family business and how each one is made! An absolute highlight of our trip to Athens, thank you beautiful lady we can’t wait to come back again one day!!
