Overview
Our small-group half-day mythology tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum inspired by Percy Jackson is ideal for families who want to see the heart of Ancient Athens and have fun at the same time! During this family Athens mythology tour, you’ll learn the history and listen to myths and legends from your specially-trained guide. There’s no better way for your kids to experience the magnificent Acropolis and Parthenon, and if they are fans of Percy Jackson, they can even see some of the places mentioned in the books and movies.

My ´5 out of 5´ rating comes straight from the kids - that should tell you plenty right there! Our guide kept them engaged throughout the tour. We all enjoyed it and learned much.

I rarely do tours, even when with my boys (now all teenagers). Went to Athens for my 13yr old's dream holiday trip with the focus on greek mythology, one of his passions. Signed up for 3 day tour (Acropolis/Sunion, Delphi, Epidaurus). I highly recommend and could not think of ever going to Athens, with kid or not, and not see the Athenian sites without Greek Mythology Tours. Angeliki was our main guide with Irene for one afternoon. Both younger (early 30s?), professionals (post grad student and school teacher), highly highly knowledgable about classic greek mythology, able to reference the Percy books to help kids who read them understand reference points. Able to intelligently converse about current social and cultural ways as well as current political and social events concerning Greece. Drivers (Jim, Tom) we had were both great. Large, clean, safe cars (mercedes no less) and excellent, smooth drivers, especially as we had to travel windy roads. Both guides were able to keep my son off his phone during the car rides and actively engaged in dialouge the entire ride. Anyone who has a 13year old knows that never happens. Angeliki studied archaeology and to walk the sites and Acropolis Museum and see in her eyes how she still finds wonder and delight is true love for what she does. Even if you have only have the half day to do Acropolis & the Museum, dont do it with anyone else but these folks.

It was our pleasure sharing with you the unique Greek mythology and culture paths through the archaeological sites of our country; our special Percy Jackson archaeologist-guides, and for sure Aggeliki, are indeed giving life to Percy Jackson stories in the most admirable and knowledgeable way. Thank you very much for trusting Greek Mythology Tours for your trip to Greece. We will be very happy to host you again in the future! Best regards from our whole team, Nadia

We had a fantastic tour with Vicky!! She was amazing - knowledgeable, warm, and entertaining. She shared with us the perfect balance of mythology, history and legend. We all learned so much. She showed us every part of the acropolis, sharing stories and helping us see what it was like during ancient times using virtual reality on an iPad. We then went to the Acropolis Museum which was fantastic!! I highly recommend this tour. Our three boys, ages 12, 10 and 9, LOVED it!!!

Took this tour based on the reviews and their emphasis on Percy Jackson. We did a one day Acropolis and Temple of Poseiden tour. Of note, I took this as a one day tour from a cruise terminal. Christina, the operation manager, did a great job with communications and setup. Valerie was our tour guide, and we had a separate driver. Valerie was great because she was not only a certified tour guide (which is a big thing in Europe), but also an archeology student, which was even cooler because she could show us small details most tour guides would miss (example: how to tell stone from clay pottery shards). She was very inclusive of the kids and had included iPad viewers which simulated the Acropolis in its heydey. The kids loved it! Then it was a drive to the Temple of Poseiden, which was also fun because we got to see a different side of the Athenian coast, and the history behind it. After all this, it was a nice lunch at Syrtaki, a locals restaurant. This was a perfect close to the tour as it was nice to have real Greek/Athenian food. This is a great trip for kids who are interesting in Greek mythology and history and want to know more. Thank you Greek Mythology Tours!

The small group tour with Alex was fantastic! My daughter (10) loves Greek myths and has read all the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riorden. Alex was able to talk to her about them and show the temples to Zeus, Athena, Hephaestus, and other gods to her in a way that really helped bring those books to life. Only reason it's not a 5-star review is because the Acropolis was incredibly crowded. So much so, that it was hard to walk around or see much. Apparently a cruise ship was in dock. Our tour was in the morning, but it might be a better idea to take the afternoon tour after the cruise-ship tourists are back on the boat.

Thank you for taking the time to sharing your thoughts and experiences! We are very happy that our Percy Jackson tour brought to life mythology and novel settings, offering you an enjoyable and interactive time with our guide! It is true that Acropolis can be overcrowded in the summer, so avoiding the heat during morning hours is always helpful for one to enjoy the tour as well as bear the crowds, that are not significantly fewer in later hours :) We will be happy to host you again if you decide to visit Greece in the future! All the best, Greek Mythology Tours Team
