From our first visit to the base we have met people with smile and ready to fulfill all our needs ( itinerary suggestions, market info for provisioning, weather forecast, etc). Minor arrengaments take place in order to provide the yacht ready to sail and there we go. The yacht was 2 year old and in very good condition. Thanks god the wheather was in our side this week and we had an uforgetable trip to saronic islands. Everything was perfect. Hope to see soon to our next visit to Greek islands. Thank you guys!!! We decided pretty much in the last minute to sail in Cyclades this year. Hermes Yachting offered a finely discounted price for the boat, but the position in Lavrio was the main reason we chose Hermes. First of all, about Olimpic Marina, there are a few differences if one is used with Alimos. If you want to exit or enter the Marina on a boat you have to use VHF 9 and announce and require assistance. If you do not, you pay a fine. The other big difference is the diesel. In Alimos, once you moore, there is a diesel small truck with a guy the comes to your boat and fills the tanks. In this marina, when you come back, you HAVE TO go to the gas station located inside the marina, to fill the tanks and then go back to your place. That is why there is always a cue and, in strong wind, you have to be very carefull. Regarding our boat, Sun Odyssey 439 from 2012, I did not expect much of it from the beginning. There were some issues: steaming light and anchor light not working, instruments on the port side were unreadable, sails were old. I have to be honest and say that most important aspects worked just fine: no engine problem, anchor perfect, lines in good shape. Overall, Elisavet is not very well maintained, but reliable and the price was good. One issue that I want to underline is the draft. On the website, the draft is 2.2 m. I asked the guy with the check in and he said 2.5 m. At the first swimming around and under the boat, I noticed keel was as deep as the rudder. At 44 feet, a 2.2 m draft should be able to hold the boat at a wind of 18 kn without the need to reef, especially that the boat is not equipped with competition sails. This was not the case, at 20 kn of wind we almost capsized :)) I guess the boat has the shallow keel option. …
