We very much enjoyed the performance. It was wonderful and refreshing to enjoy a night of dancing and music emanating from live singing, dancing, and music playing. Special kudos to the older lady singing for most of the night and the older gentleman who was switching from one instrument to another to keep the music playing! It was wonderful to... More

The performance at dora stratou exceeded all expectations. I am surprised at reviews from others who did not enjoy it as much. If you have any interest in culture you will appreciate the hour and a half.we saw over 30 dancers and a band with 2 singers do 7 costume changes and present over 10 different dances. Some were slow... More

The venue is great and is a real treat to be outside. The show was about 100 mins long and never really progressed past the patterns and rhythms of the first dance. Unless you have a prior understand of Greek tradition dancing, you may well be underwhelmed. I confess I know nothing about Greek costumes or dancing but that is... More

Last night we spent our last night in Athens at this Greek dance show. We found it hard to find and arrived late as a result. There are dark sections on the pathway through the gardens which were a bit creepy. We almost gave up a few times but we are glad we persisted as the show was very good.... More

If you have any interest in traditional folk dancing, this evening is well worth the time and effort. The Dora Strata organisation, a non profit committed to collecting Greek folk dances and costumes as well as giving lessons, featured numerous varieties of folk dances which have been garnered from a stunning variety of locations: not only mainland Greece and the... The theater is at the top of the hill. Cost is 15 EURO per person. It was a great opportunity to see traditional Greek dancing. Also a great chance to see traditional Greek costumes. I think you would enjoy this if you were interested in dance or Greek culture/fashion.

This is a great cultural experience. The program is narrated in Greek, English and French. It is only 15€ per person as well. If you have never seen Greek dance before, you should visit while in Athens. It is best to hire a taxi to get to the theatre, as the taxi can drop you off right by the entrance.... More

Being a fashion designer myself, I have to say that I was mesmerised by these simply spectacular costumes. Their performances take place 5 times a week from the start of June until the end of September. There are 10 shows (covered in 2 weeks) that get repeated every fortnight. The shows cover costumes and corresponding dances from every region of... More

In general this was a fantastic traditional performance that we experienced - quality live music, costumes, dance, singing - the whole package! Make sure you check the weather before attending, as you don't want to be spoiled by rain. There wasn't that much of a big crowd unfortunately (they deserve more!) and fortunately, as it meant we could easily grab... More
