Took us a while to find this theater from the Plaka that we resorted to getting a cab, and glad we did 'coz it was NOT in the Plaka area at all. It was a beautiful night with a full moon when we watched the...More

They are very generous with the show, presenting dances and music from different remote regions of the Hellenic world. A must see for a complete Athens experience.

We attended Dora Stratou Greek Dance Performance in June. We enjoyed the show very much. We also took a Greek dance lesson from them. It was a wonderful experience for us. The show is great for family and children all ages.

The performance was excellent. We were not sure if we should take one of our precious few evenings to see this traditional dance, but we were glad we did. The music, dancing and costumes were all wonderful; it was held in an outdoor theater. It...More

Great venue for observing a very important part of the Greek culture at it's best. The music and dancers with their costumes put on a tremendous show. Although I don't understand Greek, the music was soulful which covered a wide range of emotions. The dances...More

First of all, we signed up for a lesson, which was the most brilliant experience and which helped understand the nuances and expressions of Greek Dance. George was THE BEST teacher and made us feel each dance, its origins, and its grace. After our lesson,...More

Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient
temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small
wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer
numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely
pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between
the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth
climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges
with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the

Monastiraki Square to Philappou Hill (Dora Stratou theatre) (2 Replies)
Can anyone tell me how far of a walk it is from Monostiraki Square to: a) entrance to the Acropolis b) Philappapou Hill and the Dora Stratou Greek Dances Theatre Although it looks like a short distance on the map, because of the cliffs and hills, it may be that one has to walk all the way around. If so, going to Dora Stratou may be a short cab ride?? Thanks for any info. Rick in Maryland
