Neighborhood: Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.

Hands down favorite shop I visited while in Greece. The owner so clearly loves what is sold in the store and told us stories about the artists of items we purchased. My friend and I went back at the end of our trip to pick up some more stuff from him. Lots of cute items (books, art, keychains, wallets, shirts, etc) from many greek artists and suppliers. You can get some wonderful, unique souvenirs here. I would shop here if I was a local too! The owner also provided my friend and I a recommendation for a local jewelry shop with some more unique, not super expensive items that we ended up loving too.

When I travel, I like to bring back special souvenirs for family. I look for something unique and modern. I am so glad we found Flaneur on a recent trip to Athens!
The minute we walked in, we were greeted and welcomed to the little shop. Flaneur has everything from tote bags to tee shirts. We got our nieces and nephew comic books telling Greek mythology in a sleek modern format. What a perfect way to introduce children to these stories!
If you are in the Plaka and looking for something other than your boring gifts that every other store sells, you have to check Flaneur.
They even have a cool skyline on the wall made out of a power cord!
Don't miss this little gem of a store. It is tucked down one of the streets so it is easy to miss but it is worth checking out if you like clean design and modern gifts.

This shop was a nice change in Plaka with all it's uber touristy shops all around. I wish Flaneur hat more Greek brands. But it's nevertheless a good stop.

We came here after reading the great reviews and were not disappointed! The shop is full of interesting modern and indie art and the owner knows so much about it all! We bought plenty of souvenirs and if I could I'd go back for more!

The souvenir shop in Plaka that stands out. You will find particular items that differ from all the mainstream stuff you'll find around. The people are very friendly and help you out a lot. Lovely things for locals as well, not only for tourists!

If you only visit one shop during your stay you should come here. Lots of stuff from greek designers mixed with brands from all over the world. Helpful and nice staff who told us stories behind the greek brands. Different from all the other shops in this turist area... Hipster in the very best of ways.

I feel that's a must-visit for people visiting Athens and Plaka.
I found the couple running the shop fantastic to discuss about travelling, Greece, and about the origin of all sorts of very carefully selected gadgets they are selling.
Plus, the shop owners have a great taste in music!
Great experience, great items!

This neat little shop in Plaka is all about travel and creating experiences. They carry a nicely curated collection of travel inspired gifts and supplies for traveling and they selection of souvenirs of Athens and Greece is much nicer that your typical shop in the surrounding streets. If you'll be in Plaka (which you will most certainly will be if you visit Athens, you should certainly check this shop out!

The owner is so nice and wonderful to talk to. I definitely recommend asking him about the pieces that interest you and he can tell you all sorts of cool stuff about it. It’s awesome to shop for souvenirs that you can tell are from Greece, but don’t look like everything else and are actually MADE IN GRERCE. A must-visit shop.
