I passed by this church while walking back from the Monastiraki to the Syntegma Square. Its location seems odd, between the walls of a big building! It was closed during my visit so I just looked around and took some pictures. Worth to visit if...More

It is a really small and tiny chapel in Syntagma Square, next to a big hotel. This building was the Ministry of Education and Religion of Greece. When you are walking around the center of Athens you will find it. It worth a visit.

This tiny chapel has a very modern hotel engulfing it so easy to miss. It was open during the day it really is very tiny with small narrow window. If passing worth going in to see as it’s quite ornate with wooden ceiling.

This little church is close to Syntagma Square, and it's currently sitting under a big hotel. I was in the hotel opposite, and Agia Dinami was visible from my window. This church is mostly open in the morning of weekdays, and several locals stop by....More

The name of the tiny church Agia Dinami means literally St. Strength (or Vigor). Is cute little church that was not relocated or demolished when the modern building that was raised next to it was erected. But somehow the tiny church is engulfed under it,...More

Funny thing about these tiny chapels is that they all seem to npbe open and active, there is activity and people popping in and out. Especially there seems to be many thin taper style candles that are burned.

This looks like one of those cases where the small little church didn't want to sell to the big corporate hotel so the hotel just decided to build around the church. Small and intimate!

At the top end of Mitropoleous Street in Athens - 5 min from Syntagma square. Tiny chapel on footpath and surrounded by scaffolding from adjoining building. Very dark inside-only the flickering light from the burning candles that have been lit by passers by. Wooden ceiling...More

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
