Reserved a MERCEDES taxi for a 7km trip in Athens. "Guaranteed" a Mercedes. Car arrived, and it was one of the same old and busted shady Skoda taxis that are epidemic in Athens. I called the company, and they said, "All the Mercedes cars have problems, so we sent this guy." In the past 24 hours, I've hailed 3 taxis in Athens: all Skodas. All 3 tried to run the "no meter" scam, or the "we need to take this route" scam, and all 3 wanted 20€ for an avarage 8€ trip. I've been to Athens a dozen times, I live in Crete, so I know the cost of trips around the city. I even tracked our progress on google maps and watched their BS roundabout driving tral time. This company is nothing more than an elaborate screen to camoflauge the same BS you'll get on the street. TIP: Going to Athens? Find a late-model Mercedes taxi that does not do airport-to-Athens or return runs only, and make that guy your driver for the duration of your stay. Steer clear of this company.
