The Mondulkiri Elephant & Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit conservation & eco tourism project, developed by LEAF Cambodia, in cooperation with the local Bunong tribal communities in Mondulkiri. Available visits include elephant sanctuary day visit & 2 day visit with camping & jungle trekking, it is possible to join as a wildlife volunteer at the sanctuary. The wildlife sanctuary projects contribute to five important conservation goals: 1: To rescue & provide sanctuary for local working elephants currently used in logging, tourist rides and heavy farm work. 2:To develop Mondulkiri's first facility for the rescue and reintroduction of trafficked & captive wildlife. 3: To conserve & protect the area's beautiful community forests from logging and development. 4: To create sustainable livelihoods & improve the lives of poor communities, preserve the special culture of the Indigenous Bunong community. 5:To promote and demonstrate sustainable ecotourism, educate locals about long term conservation benefits.

Short Review: The elephants are beautiful and you do get to feed and pet them. However, our guide was actually bad and borderline offensive at times. Additionally, you get the sense the elephants are effectively "rented" to be enjoyed by tourists and not much of...More

We'd heard varied reports about this tour and company, and initially thought that the 2 day trekking tour was expensive, but we chanced upon an exceptional experience! Our guide for the first day's trek (along with 4 others, a total of eight people) was very...More

I had looked very much forward to this tour but was unfortunately quite dissapointed. There are a few elephant sanctuaries in the area and this one unfortunately seems to care more about earning money from tourists than actually providing elephants with a decent life. Don’t...More

Small motivated team working hard to improve forest- and wildlife in the area. It was nice to get so close to the elephants, without them being forced to do anything in any way. There is not much of the wild jungle with enormous trees left...More
