Everything went well till it was time to pay. On their website they offer 10% discount for tourists but when I asked for discount they said no discount then they said 5% and I kept asking then they went to 7% and then I showed them their offer of 10% on the website and they said it wasn't their shop and I said I booked the appointment and taxi transfers on the same form on the website and then they agreed to honour the 10%. I felt not very genuine person at the cashier. Peter

We had a wonderful day at the pearl farm. We got a thorough tour with the well-mannered guide Diego, who spoke good English and was good at tuning in to what we wanted to hear about. The story of how the pearls were made is fascinating. From there he followed us to the jewelry workshop and shop, where we were treated so well. A really good experience. Frank & Helene, Denmark

For me, Thailand is associate with sun, picturesque nature, emerald water and sea world, sea food, fantastic hotels (better value than in Europe and the U.S.), very nice people and excellent service! And shopping, of course )) You have all attributes to relax and enjoy your stay with friends and beloved ones.

Visited Bangkok + Phuket for the forth time and not regretted a minute.

Choose right hotels, tour the islands, enjoy local food, treat yourself with massages and you will be charged for the year ahead.

Having gone to Halong Bay pearl farm and learning the process of pearl farming in great detail, I was expecting the same from this place. I was not impressed with the two minute tour and talk and then hustled straight into the sales room. I couldn't look at anything without pressure to buy. When they realised we were on a budget and were not keen on much they quickly lost interest in us. Didn't enjoy it at all.

Having been shown around the shop, with a brief talk on pearl production, we were attracted by a necklace and ear-ring set, described clearly by the sales-girl as pearls and diamonds. Having haggled down to a reasonable price, with a pantomime of " having to phone the boss ",we then went to the till, where a sales invoice was prepared, which we were asked to sign. On inspection this stated the composition to be pearl and zirconium, which we could buy in the UK for a fraction of the price. The staff were astonished that we called off the deal and departed.

Ok, if you ask where to visit in Phuket town area they will recommend you cashew nut factory, honey bee farm, pearl farm, Wang Talang etc....

Bare in mind that these so-called factory/farm are all not farm. They are all shops. The guide will bring you there and they get some commissions from your purchase. They get some payment even you are not purchasing.

I was thinking that this is a place I can see how they produce pearl from oyster but when the car drive away from the shoreline into the city I know I'm being cheated. The moment you reach their doorstep someone will come welcome you and put a serialised sticker on your shirt. Anything you took inside someone will have it recorded. They will explain to you how valuable the pearl is, how 'cheap' they sell here rather than explaining what is pearl, how the pearl being made into jewellery.

If you want to see how they produce pearl, this is not the one. You got to make sure they really understand what you want to visit and make sure your guide is trust-able.

If you want to buy pearl product, yes this is a good place.

The pearl farm is essentially a shop, with a teeny bit of information on how pearls are farmed available. The staff basically pushes you to buy "unique genuine items". The same items are usually available at souvenir markets and Chatuchak for a fraction of the cost.

Many of the reviews are correct , this is a pearl shop that also informs you about the process that produces pearls. That's what ht we came for and expected. We actually found this very interesting. Our expectation was a pearl shop.......... and it is a good one. Quality merchandise at good prices
The service was great and we couldn't fault the pearl factory as a shop to visit do some quality shopping

Not sure, why many travellers have criticized. For us it turned out to be good. On the way our Cab stopped at this shop. We were greeted well, a welcome drink, a 5 minute tour of the shop. Got some good info about pearls, saw the Original Miss Thailand Crown, also saw the one for the Queen. Saw some very expensive pearl sets. Wanted to buy something, but felt I would get it cheaper outside, Because this shop I guess has fixed prices only, although not sure about the quality outside. All this 30 minutes entertainment for free, I m pretty happy about it. If you have time, pls visit, maybe you get something worth. But I heard there are more bargain shops around.
