This is where Melia, Koh Samui is. The beach is clean and the water is so inviting. Sitting on the beach chairs was so relaxing and comfortable with the breeze blowing on us. It’s quiet too until a group of guests was smoking and blasting some loud music. We appreciated the staff of the hotel for telling these guests to observe the rules of the beach when they were there. Kayaks are available at this hotel for free, but it’s subjected to the condition of the sea and weather.

One of my favourite beaches of the holiday. A lovely bay with nice soft sand with a gentle slope into the warm sea, which is calm by comparison to Chaweng. There are plenty of restaurants and massage huts, you can lie out on the beach as there is a decent amount of shade or hire loungers, about 200 baht each with a parasol. Also bean bags and towels available.
Sat outside Pure for the day and chilled with tasty snacks and cold drinks. All very clean, good wi fi and a hospitable owner!

The calm waters at Chong Mon beach is different to Chewang beach you can walk out for ages and paddle great for kids no under current like Chewang which can be dangerous so watch out.
Chong Mon beach has lots of 5 star hotels for lunch and pool days pay 1500 baht and spend the day in each one you can spend the 1500 on your lunch drinks it’s great value and a perfect way to enjoy the luxury side of the island without staying in the five star hotels.
Also lots of sun beds along the beach which again if you buy drinks at the place they are sitting you can stay all day for free. Sunset is pretty here.

Calm, peaceful and quiet beach.
Although restaurants and bars are along the beach. The water is like a bath, with fish to see if snorkeling.
It seemed an ideal location for families.
It is very beautiful. And if you get up early enough, you can watch the sunrise

This previously quiet family orientated beach has now become exceptionally noisy. There is a constant boom boom boom very loud music that comes from the fairly recently opened PI club. Pi seems oblivious to the noise and seem to be uncaring for their neigbours, other beach users and local community.

Beautiful beach in the northeast of Koh Samui. Beach bars/restaurants (e.g. Carnival, Kirati, Pii etc.) and hotels (e.g. Royal Muang Samui Villas) offer excellent service, Thai food, cocktails and evening entertainment (music, fire shows).

We have stayed here now for 3 years in a row for months at a time. We think the nicest beach on Koh Samui - beautiful and tons of interesting little restaurants and bars and, up till now, peaceful. Unfortunately the Chinese have just opened a new hotel - Melia - on the beach. Repellent, loud and inappropriate. Vile bad singers and band all last night and has started again tonight. Hopefully there will be so many complaints they will be shut down by tomorrow. Ghastly and gross.

Last stayed on the beach twelve years ago and stayed in the Imperial Boat House, which has been massively redeveloped for the Chinese and is now called Melia. Here in lies a possible negative.....there has been huge development in this area generally and the beach was much much busier than before, although still very relaxing.

Whilst lots of people were clearing up the seaweed on the beach, the sea itself was not very inspiring as it wasn't exactly crystal clear and shelved quite steeply.
Lots of the sun loungers and umbrellas had seen better days and were a bit scruffy.
We stayed at our immaculate pool area at our hotel after that

Loved this attractive beach. Beautiful sand and gently shelving into the sea. About 15 minutes to walk from one end to the other. Lovely vibe and a good selection of restaurants and bars.

Can you book a taxi from the cruise port to take you to the beach and how much would it be
Written January 6, 2020
Good Day,
You should download the NaviGo app on your cellphone when traveling around the island if you want to take taxis. Depending on time of day there are price surges both with the cabs and NaviGo but I found the NaviGo service to be safe and fare charges exact. They don’t take you on extraneous drives which cost you extra. It’s like a very safe Uber where you can see the map/route taken to where you wish to be. Prices are set.
Another tip no matter which taxi system you decide to take is to give the impression when they kindly enquire how long you there is to give an impression that you know the island. It makes any driver who might have ideas of taking you on an extra joyride to think twice before taking you on a circuitous route.
Alternatively there are the jump on and off local transport if you don’t have luggage which goes right around the main road of the island and have signs on the side of the vans indicating their destination like Cheongmon as an example.
Hope this helps.

Can you walk here from The Melati Beach Resort and Spa? Thankyou

Is this a good place to go as a family ( 2 children (8&10) and my parents(69&70), don't want anything too partying or busy but need a good selection of restaurants and easy access to other parts of the island.
Thanks

We never saw a party when we were there. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from on the main road. The beach was never very busy. It is not far from the airport but not on the flight path. Plenty of different forms of transport ply their trade so no difficulty in getting about.

We are concerned about the flooding in Koh Samui as we are planning a trip in a months time. The airport was closed too. Can anyone who has recently been staying in Chong Mon Beach advise what the situation is there now ? Many thanks.

We have been here for the past 9 days . It is a mix of rain and beautiful sunny days . The flooding is no where to be seen. All is back to normal . Planes are going in and out . Enjoy your holiday!

Hi, this will be our first time in koh samui, staying at imperial beach house choeng beach for two weeks in November, is it possible to island hop? Which island and can you recommend a hotel for night or two.... also noticed choeng is quiet so would be having a few evenings in chaweng beach does anyone know how much a taxis costs from choeng to chaweng. Any other tips or recommendations on what to do or go would be really appreciated Thanks guys

Hi,
The islands near Koh Samui are small and many have no accommodation but don't yak long by speed boat or ferry to get to them. Most people go to them because that want to do scuba, snorkelling, swimming or hiking in beautiful unspoiled surroundings. You can easily organise trips to them from any hotel or booking agent in Koh Samui. The distance between the two beaches is about 10 mins by taxi and is very cheap maybe 100 to 140 Thai baht. Easy to hire motorbike/ moped or a car to get around if you are going to be there for a couple of weeks. You can try these near by islands: Koh Phangan, Koh Tao about the only islands with tourist accommodation and facilities, just TripAdvisor them to get more info.
Have fun!
