We had an excellent tour with Tiago, who was a wonderful guide. The tour was informative regarding the history of Portugal and was well paced, whilst taking in some great sites. Bom Jesus was a spectacular start of the tour, followed by Braga cathedral (and the mummified archbishop!), Lunch was surprisingly good with a good choice of options. The stop in Guimaraes included access to the castle and the Palace of the Dukes which has a beautiful chapel with stained glass windows. We also had some time to explore the centre of Guimaraes. We did the tour during the Covid crisis and probably got to see the sites much quieter than normal, which was nice. We felt very safe travelling with them, with the guide and all guests (just two couples) wearing masks when in the vehicle which was reassuring. We would recommend this tour. We never felt rushed, and had enough time at each of the sites to enjoy them.

The tour coordinator picked up me at AC hotel Porto near the stadium and drove a car to Douro area. The first winery was Quinta da Roeda in Pinhao, which produces Croft Port. We tasted three Port wines: Ruby Port, Reserve Port, and Tawny Port. I enjoyed with all of them with some cheese and nuts. The vinyard there was beautiful. Then we had a Douro river cruise about one hour and could see steep slope vineyards in the region. Then we moved to Sabrosa village and had lunch. The village was known for the place Ferdinand Magellaan was born in. The restaurant might have been winery and was beautiful place with nice dishes , wines, and viewing. The second winery Quinta dos Castelares was not so far from the restaurant. We tasted red and white wines and various flavors of honeys as well. The winery was really beautiful again. Totally the tour was stunning and not pricy.

Guilherme was extremely nice and open. During the whole trip to the Douro Valley he explained us so many things about the region, it’s developments - and even the roads and other infrastructures. Very informative! Both visits to the Quintas were very pleasant, I especially loved the olive oil tasting at the second location. Lunch was tasty and rich and the view just breathtaking. At the end one of my friends forgot his glasses in the car. We didn’t even notice it but about 30 min later I got a call from Guilherme saying he was on his way back to bring us the glasses. We were extremely thankful! All in all this trip is awesome and (in my opinion) worth much more than the stated price.
