A church a little out of the way - north of the station, and at the moment completely covered with tarpaulins due to construction throughout the area. But you can still go in - you just can't see the blue facade.
The church dates from 1703 - built on the site of an old chapel; and the azulejos added in 1920. The altar is the seven-story model but there are also more recent elements of the art deco style.
The highlight of the show, however, remains the mummy of Saint Clement - the only dad apparently to be buried far from the Vatican. This is the 4th pope - Clement who was pope from 88 to 97; at the very beginning of Christianity. It would have been validated as real - how... one wonders.

The church in its current form was completed in 1703. It is dedicated to Saint. Antoni. I wasn't able to look inside, but I was very impressed by the interesting, intricately made stonework of the facade and roof. The facade is also decorated with azulejos tiles, but this is nothing unusual in Portugal. The church is located literally right next to the Sao Bento train station.

While we passed through the São Bento station we saw this beautiful church with a slightly baroque style next to it that unfortunately was closed when we passed but we could see the image of Saint Anthony in a niche at the top of the façade. It was built in 1703 with a remodeling in the 19th century on a chapel that was previously there and belonged to the Brotherhood of San Antonio. The tiles were added in the 20th century and are the work of Jorge Colaço. If you pass by there, which is most likely and it is open, you can take advantage and visit it inside.

Having seen it briefly in the previous days, we only saw it inside on the last day.
Located near the most famous Sao Bento station, the church dedicated to Sant'Antonio was built in 1700 where previously there was a small chapel also dedicated to the Saint. The Baroque style façade was embellished with azulejos representing the life of the Saint only in the 20th century.
The interior has a single nave accompanied by chapels, some with carved wooden works, I mention the one dedicated to the Holy Family.
An unusual detail is the floor of the wooden church.

In English this means the Church of St Anthony's Congregation. It is attractively decorated with blue and white tiles and can be found just north of the main Porto Sao Bento Railway Station.
Our walking tour of Porto with Viking River Cruises had quite a long stop at the São Bento Train Station, in part as a comfort stop. Having seen this beautiful little church earlier and having some free time on my hands, I decided to take a look. There was a service going on, so I just took a quick look inside with a couple of photos. However, it was well worth the short detour.

In the center of Porto, this is the closest church and it is immediately accessible from the San Benito station and from the central Rua da Flores.
it was intended to be the seat of the Brotherhood of Saint Anthony of Lisbon. It has a Baroque style facade and the facade displays a niche with the image of Saint Anthony. Azulejos tiles and interior murals depicting scenes from the life of Saint Anthony, are also testimonies of devotion to the patron saint of Lisbon.
Admission is free, although it is only open during hours of worship, however the exterior tiles can be enjoyed at all hours of the day, and it is interesting to see how they change depending on the light or the hours of the day

Baroque church, the construction of which dates back to the 18th century. An impressive facade that you can see as soon as you exit the Sao Bento station. It has a baroque facade with a niche with an image of St. Anthony's, Tiled exterior and interior paintings depict scenes from the life of Saint Anthony. The interior is amazing. Altars with beautiful baroque carvings. Beautiful tiles on the outside. Beautiful main altar. Definitely have a look if you are nearby.

This Church dedicated to St. Anthony was built on a site of a previous Chapel in 17c.
From a distance it doesn't catch your eye, as it seems incorporated in residential buildings left and right from it. However, the interiors are nice with a golden altar.
Across it is the terrific art gallery like Sao Bento train station.

This really is a great church but there are so many around. The altar is covered in gold leaf. The most interesting part is the various graves, enclosed in glass, around the sides of the Cathedral. Worth a peak.

One of the nicest, most impressive churches in Porto in my opinion. A wonderful sense of calm inside, but no pictures allowed so I have nothing to share here. Actually maybe that's why it's so peaceful inside!
Just lovely though, so intricate in terms of decor with gorgeous gold gilted side altars and a huge, high main altar. Dimly lit which adds to its air of mystique and charm.
Right next door to Sao Bento train station so very easy to find. Definitely one of my favourite places in Porto.
