The venue is great (beautiful view on the Douro). The atmosphere is special and last but not least: the chef knows how to play with flavours. The taste, the presentation and creativity are exceptional! Some attention is needed in mastering the English language: cooking on this level implies attracting international customers!

This restaurant is, clearly, obsseded whith "Guide Michelin". The waiters, still inexperient, interrupt the clients to lecture them on the explanation of the tiny portions of "amuse-bouche" and ather wonders ot this "molecular" cuisine... While choosing, I asked for a glass of white wine, but was answered that I was supposed to have an white port instead... The food is... More

I could think of no better way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon in Porto. Architecture and atmosphere greets you as you enter the inviting restaurant. Big glass doors and windows brings the beautiful gardens to your table, where immaculate food and wine is served up in a casually luxurious setting. If you are looking to have a slow, deliciously... Over the years we have made many trips to what was the "Solar Vinho do Porto". It boasted an impressive collection of port wines, literally hundreds. The staff were genteel, knowledgeable and warm; the views from the balcony garden, breathtaking. Through those visits we developed a love of ports and appreciation for whites, tawnys, rubys, LBVs and vintages. There is... More

Porto is a lovely city, for me was much kinder as Lisboa. The bridges, the city and everything are really attractive and amazing.

If you expect overwhelming attention then don't go there. You can drink port wine in fancy hotels also. If you are in learning and you do not have an attitude problem, then this is your place. I was there probably 5 years ago and i still remember it like yesterday. Place was quite empty (probably there are lots of better... More

The waiters are harsh, not very helpful and not very friendly. We went because it was on the tour route we had chosen and wanted to try port. We couldn't find anywhere else. Recommend somewhere else if you find a place but if not go here and be prepared to be served with a frown. But hey! Your not going... More

Do not go here!! The staff was incredibly rude, we did not feel welcome at all. At one point we even felt that they just wanted us to go away, the were giving us angry looks and even pointing, no idea why. It's a shame because the place is actually quite nice, but all in all a bad experience. Staff... More

Went there to try some port and though reviews weren't great it seemed our best option. Atmosphere was sterile, waiters ok but don't seem to have any enthusiasm for their product and the port list is very short - only one Ruby! We went on afterwards to a bar called 'Grapes and Bites' which had a much longer port list... More
