Ricardo provided a fantastic walking (and Uber) tour of Porto! What a knowledgeable guide! He quickly figured out we’re as interested in the food and drink history and culture as the historical aspects of a city, and created the perfect tour. Ricardo is so personable and fun and we recommend him to anyone who wants an informative AND FUN tour of Porto.

Ricardo was just as enthusiastic in person as he was in our email communication prior to our trip to Porto. He gave us a lovely tour of Porto that included expert and thoughtful knowledge of this magnificent city and took us to some swoon worthy eating establishments for light bites. We had a fabulous time with Ricardo and we were only sorry we couldn't join him for the party he invited us to later that night. In addition to a great tour, he offered suggestions and recommendations for things to explore on our own. If you're visiting Porto and need a tour guide, give him a try... you won't be disappointed!

I travelled to Porto for a Colleague's wedding in late March 2014, Ricardo was at the Airport to pick me, he introduced himself as the guide that was pre-arranged by my colleague to assist with my 2 day stay in Porto.
On our way to my hotel, we branched at a local restaurant where I had my first lunch - grilled mackerel, with potatoes and sautéed vegetable - it was awesome!!! Ricardo dropped me at my hotel and was back to pick me for a walking tour of the city of Porto.
We visited the top of the old city wall, with a wonderful panoramic view where Ricardo took me through the history of the city with in-depth knowledge. We visited one of the Old Cathedrals and Santa Clara Church which has one the most beautiful altars I have ever seen.
We visited a few local pubs, where the people never get tired of discussing football and their undying love for their club FC Porto. We had dinner at Golfinho - a local restaurant where i had my first "Francesinha" with super bock beer. It was an excellent experience.
The next day, Ricardo drove me to the wedding venue at a beautiful wine farm where I witnessed firsthand Portuguese wedding event - the event went on from 11am to 2am the day after, all the people I met were warm and very friendly, we had so much to eat and drink - there was not a dull moment.
Ricardo was punctual at all our meetings, always 10-15 minutes before our agreed time, he had excellent knowledge of the city and its history, he was courteous and put me first all the time. Ricardo became my friend and no longer a tour guide; we exchanged a few ideas about business and life thus establishing a lifelong friendship.
I had an excellent time in Porto and definitely will be visiting again.
Thanks to the City Tailors for this wonderful experience.

The best move we made on our trip to Porto and Lisbon was to tour Porto with Ricardo on our first day in Portugal. He is smart, clever, knowledgeable and has a wry sense of humor. We loved exploring the nooks and crannies of Porto by foot, hearing stories first hand for more than 6 hours. No wonder he is the go-to resource in Porto for some of the more famous travel shows on US television....but he's not the type to bring it up himself....it came up in conversation. Everywhere we went, from the local produce and fish market to the small plazas that populate the town, he seemed to know someone in a genuine way, which was what made this tour the real deal. We skipped the tourist places (don't know why anyone would stand in line for the bookstore), and instead breathed in the realities of Porto. Before booking the tour, we completed a short list of questions on the website so Richardo could really tailor the tour to our interests. The capper was a nice lunch with him at a local joint, where he kidded with the waitstaff and ordered a variety of local dishes. And the most touching thing was when he excused himself to allegedly take a phone call, and returned with a notebook from a local store so we could capture the details of our journey using an authentic Portuguese notebook instead of the spiral book we'd brought. Richardo watches, listens, and evolves your tour to suit your needs and the current vibe. Be prepared for both a lot of walking, but a lot of memories for which you'll need your own note book to capture. Highly, highly recommended.

My whole family loves Ricardo! I contacted him after reading Trip Advisor reviews and there's not much I can add to those recommendations - he is a genuinely lovely guy who wants you to love Porto as much as he does, and he will go out of his way to give you a fabulous tour.
He tailors each tour to the client but expect him to show you some amazing views of Porto and to introduce you to great (and reasonably priced) places to eat, drink, shop and visit. He will also tell you some places to avoid and, at the end of the tour, he will help you plan the rest of your stay in Porto.
I emailed Ricardo a couple of times before our trip and he always replied quickly with useful information and helpful tips. I can't recommend him highly enough.

On our last day in Portugal, my husband, adult son, and I took the train to Porto from Lisbon. I had arranged the tour with Ricardo via email and he agreed to meet us at the train station for our 4 hour tour. The focus of the tour was the Jewish History of Porto and he planned it perfectly including a trip to the functioning synagogue. By weaving the tale of the Jews in this part of Portugal Ricardo also told us the history in general. It was a wonderful and fascinating tour with a personable guide. We certainly made the right decision in not trying to figure out the city on our own. We walked and talked and listened and truly got a taste for the "other" city in Portugal. We were taking a late train back to Lisbon and Ricardo took us from restaurant to restaurant to help us find a place to suit all of our needs. I highly recommend this company and Ricardo!

I emailed Ricardo directly from his website and told him I had 2 days in Porto along with a short list of what my wife and I like to do when we travel. Ricardo suggested a 4 hour tour along with a mapped out plan of attack for the rest of our short time in Porto.
Both my wife and I were extremely pleased with our tour. I believe Ricardo takes his time to get to know you and can make adjustments based on what you are interested in. He was very patient when we asked him a variety of questions and was relaxed when he showed us the local flea market and even helped us bargain for some items.
He knew when to take a break and show us the local pastries, chorizo, cod and ham sandwiches and variety of wines in Porto. He made us feel welcomed in his home town and encouraged us to eat at local/casual restaurants to avoid over priced tourist traps and help us get a feel on what a true local eats and drinks in Porto.
Even after our tour was over he suggested an itinerary for the next day that we followed and truly enjoyed. Our goal was to discover and enjoy Porto in the short time we had, Ricardo made this easy for us as we did not have to think about what to do and just followed what Ricardo suggested.
Highly recommended.

Portugal is old, but the city of Porto is hilly, designed for the young and sound of wind and limb. All the better for us — my wife and I are in our 80’s — that Ricardo Brochado took us for two days of exploration of a country about which we knew little.
We came to Portugal in search of architecture, medieval and contemporary. In Ricardo’s Land Rover, we were driven to such modernist structures as the School of Architecture and the Serralves Foundation, both in Porto, and lunched (on octopus) at a seaside restaurant. On a second day, we drank coffee at the ultramodern bakery in Gondomar, a small city to the north and east of Porto, and then visited a series of remarkable Romanesque churches set in the countryside. Throughout, Ricardo was far more than the conventional guide. Completely at ease with clients who wanted something other than the usual tour of port wine merchants and Porto night life, he turned our two days with him into a thoughtful, informed look at the built environment and history of this small and challenging country,

My husband and I visited Oporto for 3 days and contacted Ricardo to try and arrange a tour of the city. From the very first email, Ricardo was friendly, efficient, and delivered more than we expected. He left us a map with places to discover with detailed instructions on the day we landed which was brilliant! Got great insider tips!
He met us at our hotel on the morning of out tour and immediately we knew we had made a friend. His knowledge and passion about the wonderful city shone through. We discovered Oporto in a way we never would have, were it not for Ricardo. He tailored the tour to our needs. I felt like a local! We had a great with City Tailor tours and would highly recommend it. Thanks Ricardo and City Tailor team!!

How much does a half day tour cost and is it suitable for my husband and myself as I use a fully collapsible motorised scooter. I can walk short distances. Please advise. The date we want to do the tour is May 1st and we will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel.
