Overview
Porto is all about port wine, right? Turns out 'no'. Explore Porto’s exciting craft beer scene on our beer-focused food tour.

Porto may be known for Port wine, but beer is the drink that fuels this city daily. This tour is not a pub crawl. We promise to fill your stomach and your pint glass on this evening stroll through town.

On our Porto Craft Beer & Food tour learn the basics of brewing, discover the craft beer history of the city, go behind the scenes to learn about some of the brewing techniques, and have a lot of fun along the way!

Enjoy beer tastings paired with a variety of Porto’s favorite foods – experience how beer and food can perfectly complement each other. Whether you are a curious beer lover or serious beer enthusiast, this tour offers something for everyone!

We are proud to say that, over the past 8 years, we came out as the top pick for Porto Food Tours on Lonely Planet, The Guardian, and Parts Unknown by Anthony Bourdain.

Miguel was knowledgeable & passionate, and just a great guide. Lots of stories about the city, the culture, and the food. Great selection of tastes of food & wine in special locations with their stories, origins, and place in Porto's past. Highly recommended. And don't have lunch plans for after the tour. You wont need it.

Dear Daydream769505, Thank you for taking the time to write about your time on our Private Vintage Food Tour. By taking a private tour, the group was closed off to you and you had exclusive access to our partners and your designated Taste Porto tour guide - in this case, our founder and Boy Wonder, André. This way, we were able to give you our undivided attention, an upgraded range of wines & tastings, and you enjoyed the tour keeping just to your selected company, in style. This is a great option for anyone celebrating a special occasion as well, since we can help you plan a surprise, if you wish. And we're delighted that you decided to take this private tour at the beginning of your stay in Porto. Our food tours will not only introduce you to Portuguese cuisine but you will also quickly get a lay of the land, plus the city's history and culture. And we will also gladly equip you with loads of recommendations on what to explore after, if you like, as well as help you with restaurant reservations. We love assisting our guests with their planning and it's all part of the deal. It's not easy to navigate a different culture, a foreign language and over 20 Port wine lodges, so we are very happy to help. Should "The Ten Great Canadians" ever return to Porto, we'll be thrilled to host you once more. Until next time - até à próxima!

Miguel provided a fantastic 3.5 hour vintage taste of Porto tour. We had a very international group. He was very engaging with all of us. We went to multiple venues. He clearly knew many people on the tour and was a lot of fun. Highly knowledgeable about not just the food and drink that we tasted but all about the people, culture and sights of Porto. The tour itself is highly recommended. Not the usual tourist traps but out of the way genuine stores and restaurants/cafes with lovely service and delicious treats. We will recommend to friends and family and will do another tour next time.

Dear Reigatediner, Thank you for your very kind review, for taking the time to write it and for mentioning our real life rock star, Miguel. We're delighted to know you enjoyed his guiding, but also the venues we've chosen to work with. We feel they accurately represent the local way of life, and that they are genuine - and that is what we want to share with our guests. We stick to this formula because, as travelers ourselves, we understand that the best way to get to know a place is to do it like the locals. We're so thankful for spreading the word about us, and please know that we will be thrilled to have you join us again. Until next time - até à próxima!

Dear jenbirdistheword, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with us, and thank you very much for mentioning Sérgio's wonderful job. Indeed, all our guides are passionate locals who truly want to share Porto with you, including great recommendations. And it's all part of the deal! We're very glad to know you appreciated the tastings, as well as the sightseeing. At Taste Porto, although we believe food is THE cultural expression, we understand it needs context. That is why our guided walking tours are more than just about the food. We want to share the history, the architecture, the culture and the atmosphere of our beloved city. So that you can taste the real Porto. We're so glad you enjoyed it! Should you ever return, we'll be thrilled to have you join us once more. Until next time - até à próxima!

We did the Vintage Food Tour with Joana, and had a wonderful introduction to Porto. Joana is a great, welcoming and resourceful guide, and the food on the tour is just spectacular. We were a family group (all adults, ages 33-74) and the pacing of the tour worked well for all of us. Thanks to Joana, we learned a lot about how the culinary culture of Porto relates to the city's history and social fabric. We'll most likely go back to Porto, and will go back for another food tour with Taste Porto when we do.

Dear Neveser K, Thank you so much for your wonderful review, for taking the time to write it and for mentioning Joana. We're so delighted to know that the whole family enjoyed their time on tour, as well as the food. Despite its humble origins, our Northern gastronomy is rich because necessity is the mother of invention. There's SO MUCH to tell you about but we can't fit it all on the tours - or they would last a week and we would have to include a gym membership in the ticket as well. This is why we insist on giving recommendations before we part ways with our guests, to ensure you have the opportunity to see and taste as much as possible. So yes, we promise that there is more to discover, so do come back! We'll be thrilled to have you once again, on any of our tours. Until next time - até à próxima!
