That walk along the coast line in Foz was one of our biggest highlights in Porto.
We arrived by bus (you could take a tram too) and then a short walk to the lighthouse.
It's a beautiful coast line with many lighthouses next to each other.
Be prepared to be splash! Those waves are really strong. It’s captivating to watch the powerful waves crashing on the rock.
Perfect place to take amazing pictures if you love photography.

Great walk by the river Douro to its estuary. A tram ride is also exciting (historic tram, line 1, ticket 2.5 euros). You can just sit there and listen to the sound of the waves. Enjoy the fresh smell of the sea, the air filled with seagulls' cries, just do nothing for a while...

The lighthouse or “Farolim de Felgueiras” also known as, Farol de Felgueiras, Farolim do Molhe de Felgueiras or Farolim Cabeça de Molhe located on the right-hand side of the Douro River, is a Portuguese Lighthouse who stands on the “ponta do molhe”, just in front of the “Fortress de Foz Douro”. The construction is “neoclassic and hexagonal”, he has a height from about 10 meters and is from 1886. The lighthouse is deactivated in the year 2009, the light reaches before that time 9 sea miles long.

Currently closed, but it has an amazing view and the crashing waves are just astonishing. You will always find locals fishing right next to the lighthouse.

The sun was setting quietly with a thin veil of clouds shielding the harsh light. Waves from the Atlantic Ocean were breaking at regular intervals and almost covering the lighthouse. Hardy souls braved the warning signs to take their pics at the base of the lighthouse- A must see at sunset

This is a nice lighthouse, looking out to sea, with some lovely views, both out to sea, and down the river Douro. Well worth a visit.

Who does not like to see a lighthouse? This one is a treat. Just take the tram out and a little walk or use the big red bus .

It is a bit of a journey to get out here from the main part of the city but certainly worth it. The views are great and it was nice to walk out to the end and get the spay from the fierce Atlantic Ocean waves thy crash here.

Even on a relatively calm day the strength of the sea can be seen beating against this old lighthouse: exhilarating and with great potential to get wet as the sea water splashes over the wall

Went there from Porto downtown, took Tram#1 and then walked for around 10 minutes, despite being a rainy day and a bit windy the place still have its own charm, i enjoyed some sudden waves splashes and took some nice picture.. if you have few hours spare for your Porto visit don't hesitate going there :)
