This is a fun way to go up the hill and you get some pretty good views of the river. Reasonably priced. You might need to wait a few minutes before it leaves as they need to time the cars going up and down.

It's an inexpensive and quick way to get to the top if you don't feel like walking. Nice views from bridge above, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Grab a front seat, or wait for the next trip to make sure you're first in, and have your camera ready. On one trip I took stills over the Douro and of the bridge, and on another trip I set the camera to 'video' and...More

Good alternative if you don't want to use the stairs, a quick and relaxed way to go up and down. The ride is only 2 minutes and 30 seconds in an air conditioned cabin and you get a nice view all for € 2 one...More

I used it to go from the river up to the San Bento part of town. For the cost of 2 euro, it help me to avoid the steep slope uphill.i can't believe that so few people used it!
