Clérigos Tower is the foremost undisputed landmark of Porto and a reference...

Clérigos Tower is the foremost undisputed landmark of Porto and a reference in the city's history. Clérigos Tower opened its doors in 1763, becoming the highest bell tower of Portugal, with over 75 metres. In 1753 the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni was invited to design and build this magnificent Heritage, considered National Monument since 1910. The famous church was built in the eighteenth century, between 1732 and 1749 and this was the most emblematic work of the architect Nicolau Nasoni. Is one of the most beautiful temples of baroque feature, and a reference in the history of Porto. The Exhibitions allow to discover the history of the Brotherhood of Clérigos, admire pieces from the eighteenth to the nineteenth century, in painting, furniture, jewellery and vestment collections. Christus collection, on the 3 floor, is a trip through time and space where art and religion complement each other.

This is true Ex-Libris of Oporto City. Designed by French Architect Nicolau Nasoni, it's the most well known and Important symbol of the city. The Church has just been completely renewed. From the Tower, you an amazing 360 degrees view over the City.

One of the most beautiful places for a 360º sight seeing view to the entire city of Porto. Be prepared to climb lots of steps but it'll worth the effort. Enjoy and take lots of pictures to remember.

Put your walking shoes on for this tourist site. Slow and steady gets you to the top, but oh what a view of the city. A must see while in Porto.

A nice place to visit. It will give a good perspective of the city. A bit crowded and some waiting time to get there but it worth it.

Good way to spend an hour. You have to climb to the top and walk around, but the views will be your greatest reward.

Visited Clerigos nearly after 9:30am as is one of the most visited monuments in Porto. Its is definitely worth your time. The views from the top are unbelievable. Just make you are not claustrophobic as to reach the top you will need to go up a really tight staircase with people going up and down at the same time. Bear... More

This is a great visit. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the top, and it gets tighter the higher you go. But it is totally worth it! You do have to be careful for people going the opposite way from you since it is tight, but there are spots to move aside. The views at the... More

The church itself is amazing, unlike other churches you are able to view from a much higher viewpoint so can see the church ceiling in much more detail, beautiful. The panoramic views from the tower viewing platforms are definately worth the climb. There was a crucifix exhibition on during our visit which again was very interesting.

It's located in the square with other interesting buildings. You can go up the tower for 3 eur. The climb is a little slow because of all the people on the stairs. It's not easy to move when people are going down and you are going up. Very crowded. You can see 360 degree...the view is amazing. Worth the money.
