The market is closed for renovations for the summer. It looks like they're redoing the whole interior. There's a temporary market at another location for now, but don't expect to see the building. We intentionally booked a hotel across the street for ease of access...More

Hopefully the new market will be much brighter and really draw people in. There certainly is a feel of the old world here with the old women selling fish, we stopped here on a food walking tour.

How the name says ...it is a outdoor market. There is a lot of life, sounds, smells and colours that represents the spirit of the culture in this city.

We were disappointed to find that the market is in the basement of a shopping centre while the original location is being refurbished. It was still okay, with a few stalls selling food and other products but it feels nothing like a market. There are...More

A little rough and lots of secondary supports holding up the balcony. A decent selection of cork touristy stuff and fridge magnets, fresh fruit, fish and breads. Oh and live chickens and rabbits if you wish too.

This is about to under go a major restoration project. The market will be temporarily located in the massive shopping centre just across the way. I’m glad we got to see it before the work starts and would love to come back when it’s completed....More

The market is located near the shopping area of Porto. The building looks classical and quite well kept. There weren’t many stalls open when we were there. The fruits and vegetable stalls were on the upper balconies, seafood at the lower floor with the souvenirs...More
