DouroAzul operates the ship for some high-priced week-long cruises of the Douro River. Mechanical problems the first day meant we docked 2.5 hrs upstream for the rest of the week and took lengthy bus tours daily. "New" daily schedules were seldom followed, i.e. We were...More

The boating companies claim the short cruises to see 6 bridges are 45-50 mins long - well its really more like 30 minutes of cruising along the river and 15 minutes picking up passages from the opposite bank. You don't really see much more than...More

Portugal has been a hidden gem for many years, but tourism there is growing rapidly - and rightly so. This small country was the first European country to colonise many overseas countries due to the vision of King Henry the navigator, and this cruise employed...More

The breakfast was very poor quality - a piece of bread, a plain croissant, orange drink that tasted like tang, and coffee. The lunch was decent. As for the river, I don't have anything to compare to but the river did not... More
