A beautiful, moving, and intimate introduction to Fado, expertly and sensitively performed in a small setting. In addition to the wonderful singing, I enjoyed the film explaining the history and meaning of Fado, as well as the lovely instrumental section. I'm not much of a drinker, but I also enjoyed the complementary glass of port. Somehow it enhanced the experience. The owner, also a singer, was so caring, both before and during the show.

Great performance and enjoyed the educational component. We had toured the Fado Museum in Lisbon so it was wonderful to have the live performance experience. The Portuguese guitar session was an unexpected delight. The female singer has an amazing voice that translated the emotions. If the songs she performed. The Coimbra component was a fun experience. This is a terrific introduction to Fado, including Fado de Coimbra. It seems to be run by a family. The space is small with seats arranged in rows. There’s no rake in the step-free venue, so arrive early if you want to sit in the first row. Drink your glass of port early in the show so your hands will be free to applaud the talented performers.

Excellent performances with very educational video giving history and discussion of Fado. Small space with good acoustics, glass of port included, stunning vocalists and guitar players. Felt very authentic and welcoming.

This was my first time to see a Fado show. I really enjoyed the history parts in between each performance. I also loved how one of the performers was able to speak to the audience in 4 different languages. The fado guitar playing was so beautiful.

This intimate show exceeded our expectations. The cosy venue means you have a good view and the acoustics are great. You are welcomed with a glass of port. The show is partly presented through video clips which explain different aspects of Fado, directly followed by a short performance of that particular style. Personally, I would have preferred it if the videos had been shown first and then followed by a full performance, since I felt the atmosphere was interrupted by the videos. However, this is a small criticism since the overall experience was fantastic. The musicians and singers were passionate and talented but the highlight for us, was the Coimbra Fado traditionally performed by University students, which I believe is not usually included in Fado shows. The young man who sang during that section was enchanting. The final sections included a "sing-a-long" which rather than being incredibly cheesy was actually really enjoyable and created a lovely atmosphere. You'll be guaranteed to leave singing away with spirits uplifted. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved this! I feel like we got an opportunity to learn about Fado music, the history, the culture, and the depth of meaning and passion. Particularly loved the song about the graduating students from Coimbra. We only pass this way one time!
