This is some small, nice green space in the middle of the city. It's not quiet and calm like I'd like a park to be but it's a fine place to sit down under some trees if you need a break.

Praca de Lisboa is quite a unique place. When we first walked through we thought it was lovely. Then we walked through the shops, cafes and restaurants under the park, and we then realised how it all came together. Amazing construction. The park is actually built on top of these shops! It is the roof of the buildings underneath! What a terrific idea! We visited the area a number of times, as the location of our hotel meant we had to go through this park in order to get to other attractions. We enjoyed it very much. Worth a visit or two!

Our private driver/guide took us to Praça de Lisboa, primarily to see the surrounding architecture, during our tour of Oporto. It is an oddly-shaped park, very close to the city center. It is “multi-level,” which is interesting, with a grass and tree covered “hill,” but underground “tunnels.” These are wide, flat-bottomed U-shaped passageways, made of concrete. at their entrances, they are open at the top, but for most of their length, they have glass panels in the ceiling, to act as skylights, with pedestrians walking above. Lining the walls of much of each tunnel are shops, coffee stands, and the like, so there is a whole commercial district (albeit small), below the surface of the park. Within the Praça de Lisboa is the Jardim da Cordoaria. Due to its prime location, and the elevation of the hill, the viewing of the surrounding buildings is excellent. Atop that hill, the greenery is nice too, and while we were there, it appeared that an art fair was setting up on the grassy hill. I do not know if this is common, or a one-off, but being a Monday morning in mid-September, it could well be a daily occurrence? I highly recommend Praça de Lisboa for the lovely grassy hill, the subterranean commercial tunnels, and then the view, which includes the Courthouse (Tribunal da Relação do Porto), the Universidade do Porto, Lello Bookstore and Clerigos Tower.

Very well located, near pretty much everything, I think the architecture is curious and worth be seen.

We experienced the Praca de Lisboa as a very vibrant and lively area. The park on the roof were full of people in the weekend and the cafe / bar there were filled up. Elsewhere people were sitting around enjoying themselves. The project of constructing this place was completed as an effort to improve an area in decline in the middle of Porto and creates a space for community and livelihood. Lower levels is a parking lot, mid-level commercial and top is the lovely green rooftop.
