Gerês Tour from Braga

We’ll drive up and down the hills of Gerês and show you what few people ever get to enjoy. A Keen Tours day trip to Gerês offers a complete experience unfolding the History, Culture and Nature on the Peneda-Gerês National Park.

Explore the mountains in a small group setting, hiking through centuries old paths that cut through luxuriant woods and reaching the best viewpoints for fantastic views.

Experience a forest included in the European Network of Biogenetic Reserves and a bit of the 318 km (198 miles) of the geira – the roman highway Via XVIII from Braga (former Bracara Augusta) to Astorga (Asturica Augusta), in Spain.

Depending on the weather, bathe in the fresh, clear waters of the mountain waterfalls or soak in the hot springs used since (at least) the romans, admire the newborn baby horses in the woods or enjoy the magnificent colour palette of the leaves falling – whatever the season, the tour is bound to amaze you.

Pedro and Rita were the consummate hosts! They gave us a walking tour of Braga history from the time of the ancient Romans, to learning about modern local traditions. We saw beautiful Roman archeological sites, shared great food and drink, and toured the Se Cathedral. They

We had to alter our booking for kayaking down the river in Porto, due to lack of water for safe passage along the river. We opted to try canyoning, and it turned out to be a superb day. From the beginning all communication with Keen Tours was prompt, professional and friendly.
