We're a small family business hoping to make the best out of our passion for the Peneda-Geres National Park and the city of Braga and the desire to share them with everyone. We are lucky to live in a city we love, and close enough to our favourite mountains! We embrace sustainability as a way of life and we make our business decisions based on the same principle. I engaged Keen Tours for a private transfer from Valenca to Guimaraes via Peneda Geres in May 2022. Rita was very helpful and kept me informed about arrangements as the day approached. Pick up in Valenca was exactly on time and over the next 12 hours Pedro and Rita delivered perhaps the best value "tour" I have ever purchased. We were blessed with beautiful weather and began the day with a couple of walks on the "yellow mountain" where the scotch broom and gorse were both in full bloom. Pedro was full of information about the geology, the flora and the history - including medieval wolf traps and grain stores. After a lovely lunch in their home village we progressed to a walk on the roman road in the forested section of the park - and a selection of stunning wild swimming spots. We only left the park as dusk fell and then they dropped me at my accomodation in Guimaraes. It was a very full and perfect day in wonderful company (as well as being knowledgeable, Rita and Pedro are both lovely people). I cannot recommend this company highly enough and am already plotting when and how I might return to explore the little known mountain Camino with them.

We (four of us) had two wonderful days with Pedro, hiking in the Geres and visiting historic sites in the north, with delicious lunches built into both days’ journeys. We have booked Keen Tours several times before, each time fully enjoyable – educational and entertaining. It should be mentioned that one of our guests had sprained her ankle before joining us. Pedro adjusted the itinerary and schedule so that she and we could still fully enjoy each day without missing our interests (during our hike she visited with Rita at their traditional store in Covide, learning about the various products sourced from the Gerês region). Even though we now live in Braga, we continue to book through Keen Tours to keep exploring and learning about the north of Portugal. They are our guides.

Absolutely wonderful tour today of the historic city of Guimarães with Pedro! We learned so much, and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. We’re already looking forward to booking our next adventure!

We booked a paragliding tour in August. Rita sent us the bank details and we paid 200 euros for two paragliding flights (that only lasted 5 minutes per person due to the fact that we had to wait 2 hours even though we had an appointment at 5 or 5.30 pm), a set of photographs and snacks.
Even though we were satisfied with the overall experience we felt that the price was way too high for merely two 5 minutes rides, when others were in the air for almost 20 minutes. We understand that weather is a factor and not every ride can last 20 minutes but we are outraged that we didn’t get the pictures we paid for.
Rita took photographs and assured us we would get them by email in a reasonable time.
We sent various emails:
- 1st one on August 24th to merely ask when we would the pictures
- 2nd one on September 30th (we got a reply on October 2nd and Rita told us there was a delay and we would the pictures as soon as possible)
- 3rd one on December 2nd (we got no reply)
Almost 6 months later and we still didn’t get the pictures we paid for.
Overall we are very much dissatisfied with the experience. If we had known we would have booked another tour with more professional guides and we would have gladly paid a bit more to get a better experience.

Rita and Pedro are passionate about what they do and that's what tour guides need to be! Pedro took me on a memorable, private, personalized tour through the Géres nationalpark. I believe a tour with them is a must while in the north of Portugal, as you get a true nature experience, learn a lot about culture and history, eat a lot of delicious Portugues food, enjoy humours conversations and much more. It is a great plus, that they take pictures for you of the whole tour, so you're free to enjoy everything with no hassle to take pictures. The partners that they've chosen for their tours are also very friendly and know what they're talking about. Whenever I come back to the area, I'll be very happy to go on another tour with Keen Tours!

First up apologies to Pedro and Rita for delay in getting this review up. Just arrived home in Australia after big Europe trip. After seeing many many sights in 7 weeks this was one of the highlights of our trip. Unlike the big tour groups it was just two of us with Pedro exploring this amazing scenery ... mountains, lakes, snow, Roman history. Pedro's knowledge of the history and the geography is outstanding. He tailored the day to suit our needs so we got to fit heaps into a very diverse day that finished with a swim in the Roman thermal baths. Pedro gave us great tips on dinner options in Braga and even met us the next day to show us around Braga a little bit. This is without a doubt the best and beat value way to explore Peneda Geres National Park. Do it or your Portugal holiday will have a big hole in it!

We booked the above full day tour from the UK and were delighted with every aspect of our experience. The communications were great, we were picked up at our hotel in Porto and taken by Pedro to explore Geres for the day. Pedro made our day unforgettable by his company and enthusiasm and his knowledge of the Geres park. We were taken to places that you would not easily find for yourself and saw sights such as the old wolf trapping system that you would drive past in ignorance without the benefit of Keen tours extensive knowledge of the history and development of the park. The Park is a natural paradise. Our tour was relaxed with time for a nice informal lunch at one of the villages in the park. Pedro did everything possible to make our tour a wonderful experience and we returned happily to Porto in darkness.

We spent an excellent day with our guide Pedro in the Geres National Park. We did some walks, swam beneath a waterfall and visited some truly amazing places. I personally really appreciated the level of attention they put into making sure all products etc. used during the tour came from local sources: This of course includes the excellent lunch but also small things like a little chocolate bar produced in the area. Also, their commitment to preserving the nature and the livelihoods of the people living in the park is highly commendable!

With organizational help from Rita, my wife and I enjoyed a fantastic tour of Penedes-Geres with Pedro. He listened carefully to our preferences and arranged our tour accordingly. We hiked, plunged in a pool, and enjoyed local food. We saw, did and learned so much that we never otherwise would have without Pedro's insight. We can't recommend Keen and Pedro highly enough.

My mom and I booked the tour from our accommodation in Braga, and were picked up by the great guide Pedro. From the beginning of the drive he was very attentive to what we wanted to see and experience, and our day was beautiful! The great nature sights, springs, waterfalls and local villages were charming, and all the knowledge of the local history and ecosystem provided by Pedro really enhanced the experience. The tour was a full day and we couldn't keep the smiles off our faces for a second- truly magnificent!
