Highly recommended with a warm & knowledgeable welcome by resident hostess. Very hot weather in an exposed site, so hats required & water. We wandered around alone, following the letters on the map. Virtual tour available via www.msarmento.org. Medieval gravestones, reconstructed houses, rock art etc....More

Tough to find and drive to from Guimaraes. Very cool to see the ruins of this ancient city, but the site could have provided much better information and even instructions. The map we were given was almost worthless. It would have been nice to have...More

An easy 30 minute venture from Guimaraes (with car) to walk ruins dating from 200 BC. Entry price is only 2 euro per person. Paths and "roads" are rock and uneven so not something you will want to do if you have mobility issues.

If you are interested in Celtic sites in western Europe, this is one of the best. They have only a small admission center there -- the museum is in the village. You are free to walk around at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere...More

We visited this site as solitary visitors. Why? It is a terrific site with splendid views all round. The stone remains are more than many places we've visited and give a very clear definition of the roads, walls, buildings. Beautiful flowers were in profusion all...More

We visited this settlement on a cold sort of rainy April day and we were basically the only tourists there. And it was amazing. We couldn't believe how well-preserved it was. We were actually walking on 2000yr old roads! I liked the map and the...More
