All of the rooms are decorated with the furnishings and art representative of each room’s original purpose during that period. And, upon entering each room, you will find a stand of information cards in several languages, including English, detailing the history of the room, its...More

This is the birthplace of Portugal and a unique place to visit. Whenever we come to Guimarães this is a mandatory visit. The adult ticket it's a bit pricey but they also have family tickets ( adults + 2 kids under 12) that's half price.

I got the chance to listen children’s chore singing in the castle patio – wonderful acoustics, angels’ voices. They enjoyed singing! An interesting exhibition in a dark medieval castle – one gets a feeling about that time. Worth to visit!

Beautiful from the outside. The inside is beautiful as well (the ceilings, furniture...) but not astonishing.

We spent around an hour here. I really liked it. The info cards were very good. We paid extra to see the catapults ( waste of money ). The tapestries were beautiful. There are toilets and refreshments here on the ground floor.
