The beautiful Mountain View was from Hoko Sushi bar in Braga. We learnt from google that there is a sanctuary. What a beautiful surprise when we got there. The Sanctuary Of Our Lady Of Sameiro is beautiful. The views surrounding this sanctuary are gorgeous. Not to mention the sunset. We were lucky to have clear blue skies. The drive up is beautiful. The energetic ones can hike to the top. You can cycle to the place too. So if you are visiting the North enter this in your diary. Portugal is special. Surprises are never too far away and some need not be planned for.

The idea that people pilgrimage here today and for 100’s of years before is amazing. It’s pretty up there and worth seeing!

Beautiful church and surrounding. Great photos especially as we had a clear blue sunny day. Definitely worth a stop. Views of Braga are amazing from here.

I think many people forego Sameiro, in favour of Bom Jesus. Perhaps it isn't as spectacular but it's worth a visit nonetheless. It faces the same direction, west, so read my review on Bom Jesus for photography advice. If you catch a bus up, hang on to the ticket, you may be in time to reuse it again to go down - see my photo of the bus ticket. Do walk down the steps, the view of the church is spectacular from below. See my photos to get an idea - they were taken on my mobile as my camera batteries went dead - it must have switched itself on and off without my realising it. :(

Beautiful cathedral overlooking Braga. Very symbolic church in Portugal. Must witness the stunning sun set. Transport is required, as the church is 15mins from the city centre.

We visited the beautiful church on the hill early in the morning on the next day after we went to the Bom Jesus do Monte. And it was good so – we could define the impressions. The fog and emptiness made this place mysterious and magnificent. The atmosphere in the church was calming and invited to sit down and think of …

This is located near bom Jesus, so you can visit both at the same time. There is free parking but if it’s busy it can be difficult to find a space to park.
The sanctuary is beautiful and you’ll have amazing views around
There are public toilets but make sure you take some paper with you, there are sinks to wash your hands but you don’t have any hand wash there

Buenas tardes.
