The tower was a highlight because of the showcase of arts by indigenous artists of Portugal. The showcase included clay works with colourful glazes, as well as modern interpretations of galo figures. Then the view from the top was spectacular!

The tower looks really cool and I consider it another gem of Barcelos. It was already closed when I visited, it was late and almost night, so I am rating it very good, but I'm sure if I visited earlier it would have been excellent. The view from other photos I've seen looks awesome. I guess I just have an excuse to return to Portugal.

The tower has been restored in a smart way. You can climb the stairs or take the lift. The access is free and there is a permanent exhibiton of local pottery which is quite interesting. Also there is entertainment for the kids, which never hurts. The views from the top are nice. Worth it!

Inside the building you find many craft pieces from Barcelos, and you can buy some of them if you like. But the best is the top of the this medieval tower where you find a great view to the main squares, streets and gardens of Barcelos.

Great view of Barcelos city, the river and old romain bridge. It has a small museum with local art and a lift to the last floor (not to the roof).

This tower/small museum/gift shop is right in the main square in Barcelos. The walk to the top took two minutes. If memory serves me correct, there is even an elevator. The views from the top were amazing overlooking the city and the surrounding countryside. The staff who worked here was friendly and multi-lingual.
